Refreshing Night with Coco Royal at Namnam Comfort Filipino Food

Note: Namnam was rebranded to Manam

Hydration is important to our health. Hence it is vital for us to choose the right beverages to drink, like Coco Royal.

Coco Royal is a delicious and healthy beverage line imported by Conrad & Co. from Thailand. Coco Royal is available in six variants in 300mL bottles: Pure Coconut Water, Coconut Water with Water Chestnut, Coconut Water with Aloe Vera, Basil Seed with Honey, Mango Juice and Pineapple Juice.

Any drink is best paired with a delicious dish, like the dishes of Namnam Filipino Comfort Food.

Namnam Comfort Food is a newly-opened Filipino restaurant serving both classic dishes and dishes with a twist.

Before we started with our food pairing, we were served an appetizer, Chili Garlic Fried Dulong with Pandesal Melba Toasts.

Cooked with coconut milk, the dish is quite similar to Bicol Express. I think I'm starting to love spicy dishes. Our group loved this so much that we had to ask for more.

Our first pairing is Coco Royal Puro Coconut Water and Pinsec Frito with Tomato-Aligue Dip.

Pinsec Frito is a dish of Chinese origin, given a twist by adding Tomato-Aligue as a dip. A simple yet delicious appetizer.

Next pairing is Coco Royal Coconut Water with Aloe Vera and Ensaladang Pako, followed by Coco Royal Coconut Water with Water Chestnut and Corn Ukoy Fritters.

I like how generous the tinapa flakes in the ensaladang pako that I got myself bigger serving than usual for salads. The Corn Ukoy Fritters was good, but I still prefer the shrimp fritters.

Another pairing is the Coco Royal Pineapple Juice and Deep-Fried Chorizo and Quezong Puti Lumpia.

I liked this dish too! I'm thinking if I should try adding cheese to our homemade lumpia next time.

The last batch for the pairings are Coco Royal Mango Juice and Baby Squid in Olive Oil & Garlic and Coco Royal Basil Seed with Honey Juice and Batil Patung.

I really loved the last two dishes. I was supposed to eat the Baby Squid rice-free but it seems incomplete without rice. Topped with a runny egg, Batil Patung got me by surprise. This pancit from the North was the definite winner.

Coco Royal Cocktails

We also enjoyed cocktails mixed with Coco Royal drinks. Here's the list of cocktails we had, which you can also try at home:

Maui on my Mind
- Coco Royal Pure Coconut Water, Rhum and Triple Sec
Waikiki Sunset
- Coco Royal Mango Juice, Tequila and Triple Sec
Tahitian Bikini
- Coco Royal Basil Seed with Honey Juice, Vodka base, Triple Sec and Sweet & Sour Mix
Hawaii High-O
- Coco Royal Pineapple Juice, Triple Sec, and Sweet & Sour Mix

And yes, even the desserts were given a yummier touch by Coco Royal!

We had Banana Cupcake with Coco Royal Basic Seed and Honey Icing, Vanilla Cupcake with Coco Royal Pure Coconut Water with Water Chestnut Icing, and Carrot Cupcake with Coco Royal Mango and Pineapple Icing.
