It's our first day at Puerto Princesa. Since we only have 3 days to explore the wonders of the city, we didn't have much time to explore the popular foodie places around. However, my friends and I tried a few spots, some of which I'll be featuring here soon.
Puerto Princesa is known for its exotic food, like the Crocodile Sisig and the Tamilok, however, just any other human, I just want some comfort food.
Skybox is one of the places recommended to me by friends. We have seen it earlier during our City Tour so we didn't have to ask around when we went for dinner.
Skybox looks a bit like a sports bar with an outdoor kitchen. It has both al fresco and indoor dining areas. We chose to dine inside the resto because's there's a musician playing outside and we wanted some peace and quiet.
For appetizers, we had Ultimate Nachos (Php 195) and Boneless Chicken Wings (Php 180).

I appreciated that the Ultimate Nachos has lots of veggies on top, I just wished they put lots of cheese sauce on it. The Boneless Chicken Wings was served with two dips, but the sauce on it is also good enough for a dip.
For pasta, we tried the Cheesy Beef Lasagna (Php 175). It was ordered by my friend but she shared it with us anyway.

I found the pasta a bit overcooked. However, the serving was good enough for 2 persons.
Skybox is known for its burgers, so we also tried it. Burger patties come in 4 sizes: Junior (1/4 lb), Classic (1/2 lb), Double (1 lb) and Monster (1 1/2 lb). I had a junior BMM Burger (Php 110) while my friends had Classic Cheese Burger (Php 170) and Classic Ranchero (Php 195).

The burger patties are grilled as you order, and I really really love grilled burgers. I think I expected a lot upon seeing their humongous billboards around the city as I found the burger a little bland. However, I was satisfied with the presentation of their dishes. And yes, I enjoyed my Rootbeer Float (Php 95) too!

We were supposed to try the fried ice cream, but upon seeing that they're just using Nestle Ice Cream, we decided to go somewhere else for a nightcap.
Skybox has promise in terms of food so I do hope they'll improve their dishes. Also, the service needs improvement too, as the waiting staff tends to stay near the outdoor kitchen to chitchat with the kitchen guys. As for payment methods, Skybox has a credit card option, but I wouldn't recommend it given the poor network signal in the city.
I was told that Skybox has a Manila location, is that still open?

DeleteI love burgers so when you said it's bland, I'd probably won't try it if I ever get to that place. I have my eye on those nachos though, looks yummy.

Deletei haven't got the chance to visit this one, just as i assume, they still need to improve they need to improve their service just like with the one we went too but what's good with the people there is, they are indeed friendly.

The resto beside it is air-conditioned too. Same goes with the coffee shop we went to after this. :)
