My friend from Malaysia was back in Manila once again (yes, the same one I had lunch with at 8 Spices) for work. He's not going to be back for a long time so along with my former workmates (technically, my former clients), he gave us a dinner treat to Chef 's Quarter.
I was curious about Chef's Quarter for a long time, especially their panizza. :)
We didn't have any pork dish for this dinner because my Malaysian friend is Muslim, so no all-meat panizza this time :(

The resto was very spacious, and even has function rooms for private functions. We were seated at the booth, which was dimly-lit and cozy.
For starters, we had BBQ Buffalo Wings (Php 250 for 6 pcs).

If I didn't have to share this with anyone, I could finish this and even order more. The wings aren't really spicy, but the BBQ sauce was really delicious. :)
For baked dishes, we had Baked Eggplant Parmegiana (Php 295 for family size) and Baked Three-Cheese Lasagna Bolognese (Php 395).

Baked Eggplant Parmegiana reminds me of Moussaka, my favorite Mediterranean dish. It's a good choice if you're lessening your carb intake. But if you're a carb hoarder (like myself), you'll love the Baked Three Cheese Lasagna Bolognese. :)
For the panizza, we ordered the Caprese with Mushroom (Php 270)

Rolled panizza :) |
A panizza is a soft dough crust. It is served with arugula leaves, tomato salsa, and alfalfa sprouts which you add when you roll a slice of panizza before eating. Caprese with Mushroom has tomato, three-cheese, basil, chili flakes, and anchovies. This is a very simple yet delicious flavor.
We were supposed to try some desserts here but seeing what's on display, we just decided to have coffee at Starbucks instead.
I was impressed by how reasonable the prices of the dishes at Chef's Quarter. The service was impressive and the ambiance is very relaxing. I'll definitely go back to try the other panizza flavors, the steaks, and the famous Tessie Tomas salad. :)

Have you tried this one, Lady Myx? :)
DeleteI often see Chef's Quarter in Robinsons' Manila (hopefully my memory serves me right), and I am reluctant to try it out for no apparent reason at all. Anyway, now that you have blogged great about it, we might try it next time. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, prices seem to be really affordable.
