Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina

Say hello to the newest resto in the Kapitolyo area: Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina.

A good friend and I planned to have a quick lunch/get-together at Silantro. It's been a while since I had Mexican food and I was seriously craving for some tacos.

Silantro is not exactly new in the food industry, as they have been serving Fil-Mex food in Dagupan City for quite a while, but decided to bring their resto to Manila. Their place in Kapitolyo has a laid-back vibe, with both alfresco and indoor dining areas.

We had some appetizers, Beef Nachos (Php 160), and Silantro's Quesadillas (Php 145).

Beef Nachos

Silantro's Quesadillas

The Beef Nachos has carne asada, guacamole, tomatoes, with melted cheese. This is good for 3-4 persons, but I was really hungry and these Beef Nachos are delicious, sooooo... I think you know what happened next.

Silantro's Quesadillas are two pieces of flour tortillas with chicken and melted cheese fillings. We had a piece of each quesadilla, and it was a simple dish, yet I liked it.

For the main course, we also had Silantro's Paella Fajita Mix (Php 250).

It's recommended to mix it as soon as it's served. It also comes with two pieces of tortilla. This dish is generously topped with meat I enjoyed it. Again, this dish is for sharing.

I have a thing for tacos, so I didn't miss trying Lucha Tacos. When ordering Lucha Tacos, you can have a choice of either soft or hard taco and your choices of meat. You have a single choice of meat (Ligero, Php 65), double choice (Medio, Php 85), or triple choice (Completo, Php 100).

There are 6 kinds of meat available for Lucha Tacos: Beef, Chicken, Pork, Lamb, Ox Tail, and Lengua.

I had a soft taco Completo with Beef, Chicken, and Lengua.

Lucha Tacos

This is kinda messy to eat, but I didn't mind. I love their soft tacos! I'd love to have this again and try other combinations. :)

Silantro also serves Pancholon's Burger, Calliente Wings, Silantro's Burrito, and Grilled Mahi-Mahi & Marlin. If you want some drinks, they also have beers and unlimited Mojito for Php 250.

I was impressed by how affordable yet delicious the food I had in Silantro. The service was also excellent. I'll definitely give Silantro another visit to try more of what they have to offer.
