Uno Lounge

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

I'll let you in a "not-so-secret" secret: I don't really drink. I retired from drinking before I even started learning how to drink. Alcohol doesn't appeal to me like coffee or Coke or Happy Lemon's Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cheese. Before you even say that I'm a killjoy, I try to join friends whenever they go out to drink but I don't like it when I'm forced to drink. I'll grab a glass of vodka on my own and drink it, thank you. But that's just it.

That explains why I rarely go to bars.

I was quite surprised when I arrived at Uno Lounge. It was idiotic that I didn't think that I'm going to a bar. Oh well, I should give bars a try, like, every five years.

Uno Lounge is one of the newest hangouts in Greenfield District. It's from the same owners of Uno Pizzeria at the SM Mall of Asia Complex. Uno Lounge been on soft opening for less than a month and will be officially launched in February.

Comfy couches inside Uno Lounge

The place has a really elegant ambiance, with comfy couches and elaborately designed walls.

Uno Lounge Bar

Pizza

Like Uno Pizzeria, Uno Lounge serves pizza called Pizza Ovale or Oval Pizza.

We were served Full House Pizza (Php 350) and Buddha's Feast (Php 395).

Full House Pizza
Buddha's Feast

Full House Pizza has all the works: pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, bacon, pineapples, shiitake mushrooms, olives, onions, and bell pepper. Buddha's Feast is an all-veggie pizza, with shiitake mushrooms, roasted garlic, onions, kernel corn, and roasted bell pepper.

We also had Uno's Seafood Pizza (Php 495) and Four Season Pizza (Php 495).

Four Season Pizza

Uno's Seafood Pizza has roasted garlic, shrimps, calamari rings, fish fillet, and smoked mussels. Four Season Pizza is a combination of 4 flavors in a single crust. Ours has Pepperoni and Cheese, Uno's Seafood Pizza, West Side Shrimp Pesto, and Maui Hawaii.

I liked everything, but Uno's Seafood Pizza stood out among the pizzas we tried.

Mains

We also got first blood on the dishes that Uno Lounge will be serving really soon.

We got Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing and Smoked Salmon Roulade with Cream Cheese, Fried Capers, Dill, Shallot Rings, and Alfalfa.

Their Buffalo Wings could use more hot sauce, in my opinion, though I liked the generous amount of Blue Cheese Dressing served with it. I loved the Smoked Salmon Roulade, which I easily popped a piece into my mouth. I was about to get another piece, but it was already gone. I guess the whole group loved it.

We also tried the Crab Cakes with Roasted Corn Relish, Citrus Salad and Caramel Sauce & Pork Belly Confit with Salted Egg and Tomato Salad.

The Crab Cakes are covered in the deep-fried batter to add crunch to the dish. I also liked the simplicity of the Pork Belly Confit. I love salted eggs too.

We were also served Seared Cajun Tofu with Caramelized Onion and Grilled Pork Belly & Slow Roasted Pork BBQ with Jicama and Red Cabbage Slaw.

I usually don't like tofu, but the Seared Cajun Tofu is so good with the toppings on it. The Slow Roasted BBQ has a flavorful sauce that makes this dish really special.

We also tried their cocktail drinks like Girlie Peachie (Php 149 on Saturdays), Oh! My Gosh (Php 149 on Mondays), and martinis like Passionate Kiss (Php 149 on Wednesdays, Php 220 on other days) and Hypnosis (Php 149 on Fridays, Php 220 on other days).

Oh! My Gosh
Girlie Peachie, Passionate Kiss, Hypnosis

Girlie Peachie is a mix of vodka, Schnapps, and orange juice. Passionate Kiss is a mix of passion fruit, vodka, and Cointreau. I didn't take note of the mix of the other drinks but I could recall that my order (Oh! My Gosh) is also vodka-based. Oh! My Gosh has a fruity taste I liked, but after a few sips, I willingly gave it to one of my friends. :)

Laser lights. How Sci-Fi. :P *nerd mode*

Uno Lounge also has guest DJs every weekend, awesome venue for party-goers after a week's worth of hard work.

If you're looking for a new hang-out, I strongly recommend Uno Lounge with its spacious and charming ambiance. The bartenders are also helpful if you want to try out some cocktails. Prices are reasonable too.

Thanks to Uno Lounge for having us and to Openrice Philippines for organizing this event.
