Note: This restaurant has been rebranded to Asian Bistro.
As I've always mentioned in my previous blog posts, I'm not a fan of Japanese food. I'm not sure whether I just went to a not-so-good Japanese restaurant or I was just traumatized by a bad-tasting California maki a few years ago. But I'm a foodie, I got to try everything, so I went to Asian Bites to try some Japanese food.
Asian Bites is a restaurant under Robinson's Supermarket serving mainly Japanese food. It's an open area located in front of the supermarket so expect lots of people passing by. Most people eating there are usually people who had quick runs at the grocery during lunchtime.
For my first visit, I ordered the Tonkatsu Bento (Php 169).

For my second visit, I got Beef Gyudon (Php 129).

We also got to try Salmon Skin Maki (Php 49 for 4 pcs) and Double California Maki (Php 85 for 4 pcs).

I love Asian Bites! I'll keep on coming back for the California Maki, but I'd love to try the various rice bowls and sushi on their menu.
And now I love Japanese food.

Thanks for dropping by, Yedy. I really appreciate it! :)
DeleteContrary to your not liking Japanese food (before coz now it seemed you change opinion alreayd and liking it), I am a big fan of it along with Korean dishes. Good thing my taste bud is I guess built for the Asian foodies..hehe!
ReplyDeleteBeef Gyudon entices me though I've eaten countless of it already way back. And I guess, every single photo you got here pwede kung kainin lahat..takaw mode lang.
I haven't visited any Japanese Resto here in KSA coz I don't know where to find one yet. But I'd love to explore ahead. Have tried Korean and Chinese resto here. Chinese Tandoori is a great resto here.
I'm just starting to like Korean and Japanese food. Good thing because I don't want to limit myself (since I already have a lot of limitations.haha).
DeleteThanks for appreciating my photos, I don't modify them so that's how the food really looks like. :) Hmm, where are you exactly in KSA? I guess there should be Japanese restos there since don't eat pork di ba? And Japanese is more into seafood. Hope you find one there soon. :)
I love Japanese food, though I usually order Katsudon whenever I'm in a Japanese restaurant. So far, my favorite Katsudon is Sumosam's. :)
ReplyDeleteThe Double California Maki from Asian Bites looks yummy. :P
Woah, haven't tried Sumosam. Yep, it's really good. :)
DeleteI love gyudon with raw egg! Yum! I should try this kaso lang ang layo. Hope they have other branches.
