I was again invited by Openrice to try this new Japanese restaurant along Katipunan: Moshi Moshi.
Moshi Moshi (which means "hello" in Japanese) opened last October and offers authentic yet affordable Japanese dishes. The color theme of the restaurant is lime green; with sleek furniture and ambient lighting, it's a nice hang-out place for either groups or couples.
Side Orders
We were served Gyoza (Php 95 for 5 pcs), Takoyaki (Php 55 for 6 pcs), California Roll (Php 139 for 8 pcs), and Miso Soup (Php 35).
I found the Gyoza, or Japanese dumplings, cute yet flavorful. I liked that their Takoyaki is moist but it doesn't have much fillings unlike the takoyaki I've tried before, nevertheless I enjoyed munching on it.
The California Roll is bigger than most California rolls I've tried. I loved that they put Japanese Mayo in the middle. I could eat the whole serving since it's my favorite.
I'm usually into Miso Soup but I liked their version since it wasn't that sour.
Bento
We were served one of Moshi Moshi's Deluxe Bento, Kin Bento (Php 320). Kin Bento has Gyu, Kani Salad, Tempura, and Takoyaki.
I love beef that's why this bento's for me, but there are 4 more bento sets to choose from: Gin, Matsu, Ta-ke, and Ume.

Dessert
Moshi Moshi creates its own soft-serve ice cream with 2 of the following flavors available daily: Mango, Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla, Cheese, Melon and Strawberry. We were served Strawberry (Php 35 per serving).
Their ice cream has this milky edge that though I'm not into berries, I liked it. They will also introduce the Green Tea flavor this April.
Coming Soon:
Moshi Moshi also made us try some dishes which will be on their menu soon. They will soon be serving a "Create Your Own Bento" that for Php 155, you can choose your rice toppings: Gyu, Curry, Teriyaki and Chicken Mayo. The rice toppings will be served with Kani Salad, Onion Rings, and Pork Balls.
We were able to try Teriyaki and Gyu Bento
As I've mentioned, I'm into beef that's why I'm partial to Gyu. But I also liked the teriyaki, the sauce was really thick and sweet. I love Onion Rings too!
For the health-conscious, they will also be serving soon Healthy Salads, which is good for 10 persons, and I am not exaggerating. You can choose from either Kani Salad (Php 188) or Healthy Mix Salad (Php 255) and choose from the following dressings: Chinese, French, Japanese, or Sesame. We were able to try the Kani Salad.
The Kani Salad has kani, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, crab stick tempura, ebiko, and carrots. It was so overwhelming that it was a meal by itself.
Overall, I loved my Moshi Moshi experience. I really had fun since I was able to meet my fellow food bloggers, Stacey, Mimi, Aileen, and Berylle. I also learned a lot from other bloggers/Openricers like Lovelee, Flor, and Marra. :) The Japanese owner (whose name I forgot to ask) was hands-on in accommodating our group.
Thanks to Moshi Moshi for having us.
