Eat and Go

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

Much as I dislike it, I have to look for a restaurant within my friend's budget limit. I'm a bit lenient when it comes to a food budget, that's why "budget eating" isn't one of my specialties (will work on it, I promise!). Then suddenly, Eat and Go comes to mind.

Eat and Go is one of the many restaurants at The Atrium at SM Megamall, I would always remember seeing their promos but haven't tried it. One of the staff offered their Executive Meal for Two deal for Php 399, which we tried.

The place looks like your cozy cafeteria. We opted to sit somewhere near the wall where delicious food photos were displayed, much to my hungry tummy's annoyance.

With Executive Meal for Two, you may choose two entrees originally worth Php 195 each, one salad and two bottomless iced tea or lemonade.

For the salad, you may choose Waldorf, Chef Salad, or Seafood Salad. We chose Chef Salad (originally worth Php 165)

Chef Salad
Chef Salad has lettuce, egg slices, cucumber, cheese, ham, and TID dressing. I like salad, but I don't really recommend ordering salads at restos since it's so easy to make one at home.

For the main entrees, my friend ordered Chicken Saltimbocca with pasta and rice while I ordered Roasted Chicken with corn and carrots and rice.

Chicken Saltimbocca

Roasted Chicken

Chicken Saltimbocca is similar to chicken cordon bleu with saltimbocca sauce while Roasted Chicken is your traditional oven-baked bone-in chicken. The dishes arrived a bit late, which I can't understand since most of their dishes are pre-cooked.

My friend and I got the unlimited iced tea, which was too sweet for me (and tastes like berry, which I don't really like). Despite the delay in serving the main entrees, the servers were quick in refilling our iced tea and giving me salt (since I found the corn and carrots a bit bland for my taste).

Guess what? Our dinner's within my friend's budget. I have a future with budgeting after all.

Eat and Go offers comfort food at affordable prices. The service is quite average since the main entrees took a bit long to be served. The food wasn't quite impressive, I think they need to improve on this.

Oh, I'm not sure if they serve dessert, do they?

  1. Nice start for budget lesson :)
And thanks for fair review. Quick in refilling bottomless iced tea is very important for diners. And the long wait for serving is quite annoying. That's one plus and one minus right there.

    1. Yes, quick refills are very important. I wasn't able to maximize this though, since I don't like berry flavor. :)

  2. I don't do "budget eating" too! I'd prefer keeping my expenses low on clothes and gadgets, but never on food.. hahaha.. :D Anyway, I've been seeing Eat & Go, but I've read negative reviews before that's why I haven't paid it a visit yet.
