Home Cooking 101: Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf

Banana is one fruit that you can always find in our home's pantry. My mom makes sure that we have a new batch every week. Aside from helping with digestion, bananas are quite handy for baon (Banana-Nutella sandwich for me) or midnight snacking (still with Nutella). The only downside of banana is that it rots quickly, so we buy boxes of Maya Banana Cake Oven Toaster Mix so no banana will ever go to waste. :)

You just need an oven toaster to create this recipe, but you may also use a conventional oven if you have one at home. I also found a pack of chocolate chips in the fridge so I thought of adding this to the recipe. My sister got the chocolate chips in the grocery (Dutche Chocolate Chips is Php 100 for 350g at SM Supermarket).

Ingredients:

1 box Maya Banana Cake Oven Toaster Mix
1/2 - 1 cup of chocolate chips

For the Maya Banana Cake Oven Toaster Mix:
1 egg
2 pieces banana, mashed (preferably lakatan)
oil
water

Instructions:

  1. Mix the ingredients according to instructions in the cake mix.
  2. Add the chocolate chips in the batter. Stir.
  3. Transfer the batter in the loaf pan. Cover the loaf pan with foil.
  4. Bake in the oven toaster for about 10-15 minutes.

Allow the loaf to cool down before serving. I love that the chocolate chips melted that we excitedly grabbed a slice. Oh, the Maya Oven Toasted Mix is only around Php 42. In case you were wondering where we got the loaf pan, we bought it at Japan Home Center for only Php 88. :)

It's a super simple and affordable baked treat you can also do at home.

    1. I guess it will, you just have to adjust to baking time depending on your microwave oven. :)
