#makemeFAT at FAT Restaurant, Burgos Circle

Chef Kel Zaguirre of the Locavore fame has opened a new restaurant in BGC that specializes in anything fat and delicious: the restaurant aptly named FAT

Currently on its soft opening, the people behind FAT strongly believes that fat is not evil, as it is necessary to bring out the flavor of the food. 

For starters, I had the Pork's Ear En Croute (Php 370), one of the FAT snacks on the menu.

It is grilled pork ear on sourdough with herb oil, saffron aioli, mango mayo, and pico de gallo. I do love pork ear (hello sisig!) and this dish is a new addition to my pork ear dishes that I would try again and again. In all honesty, this dish doesn't need a dip as it can stand on its own.

Must-try FAT snacks are the Bar Mix (Php 290), a mix of 12-spiced nuts, popcorn, powdered sugar, and salted caramel, and the Green Tea Chicharon (Php 190), house-made chicharon served with honey vinegar and green tea salt.

For entrees, I was served the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Fillet (Php 590).

This dish is grilled chicken fillet on top of spanakopita served with sour cream. I love chicken and I love how the spices got into the tender meat. I highly recommend that you try this dish. 

Other delectable entrees are Duck Burger (Php 510) and Salmon & Uni Pasta (Php 780).

For desserts, I had the Choux Donuts (Php 280) and Bacon Baklava (Php 310).

The Choux Donuts is easy to love, with the banana filling inside it, served with creme Anglaise, Nutella, and chocolate espresso sauce. I would love to have a 2nd serving of this..or maybe more. 

FAT made baklava more exciting with the Bacon Baklava, with a mix of pistachio, almonds, and maple-glazed bacon inside the phyllo pastry and served with a scoop of brown butter ice cream. I was left speechless on this dessert as it restored my faith with baklava. 

I was surprised at how amazing the dishes FAT serves from the starters to the desserts. I wish I have a bigger stomach to try more dishes because seriously, I would love to try everything that FAT has to offer. 

FAT is currently on its soft opening and is open for dinner. They'll be introducing new dishes and will be serving for lunch soon.
