Healthy Lunch at Cafeteria Verde

Note: This establishment is already closed.

My lunch buddy and I have been eyeing Cafeteria Verde (or C Verde) for a long time but this little cafeteria is always full. We went lucky a few weeks ago to finally try what this place has to offer.

Cafeteria Verde is beside Old Manila Coffee House at the Sports Loop of Robinson's Galleria. It is the vegetarian resto counterpart of Big Chill. Yes, the healthy smoothie bar.

To save a few bucks, we ordered 2 set meals for Php 99. Each set includes an appetizer and a 12oz Slush of the Day.

The slush of the Day: Mango Watermelon

The slush of Day is Mango-Watermelon, an interesting combination, I must say.

For appetizers, we chose Nachos with Loaded Garden Salsa (Php 79 for ala carte) and Zucchini Sticks (Php 79 for ala carte).

I love that the nachos were topped with lots of grated cheese, that I didn't realize that something was missing. The breading was too thick for the zucchini stick, nevertheless, we still liked it.

We also had Caramelized Onions and Cheese Panini (Php 99) and Tomato-Garlic Spaghetti (Php 99).

The panini oozes with melted cheese enhanced with the sweetness from the caramelized onions. I'd love to have this panini again. However, the Tomato-Garlic Spaghetti didn't appeal to me. Guess I should stick with meaty spaghetti.

Overall, I was satisfied with our vegetarian lunch. Everything on the menu was surprisingly affordable and healthy. Cafeteria Verde also serves healthy burgers, which I'm bound to try on my next visit.

  6. Great meals for people on a diet. But it can be misleading too. You'd think you're avoiding calories but there it is at the cheese!

  13. The food looks Italian-Vegetarian - so much love! The Zucchini Sticks caught my eyes - yummy! Hopefully, the despite the thick breading, I can still taste the goodness of the zucchini. :)
