I'll let you in a little secret: I haven't been to a lot of mainstream restaurants until recently. A few months ago, I got to try Pancake House, and now I got to try Bon Chon Chicken! :)
Bon Chon Chicken opened its Philippine franchise almost 2 years ago and still one of the box office restaurants ever.
It was a birthday treat from a good friend that he thought of taking me to Bon Chon since I haven't tried it yet.

To start our meal, we had Fish & Chips (Php 125, ala carte).

The version of Fish & Chips has soy garlic glaze, which gives a little kick to the dish.
We also had Boxed Meals, which come with drinks. My friend ordered Thigh Ricebox (Php 145 for 2 pcs) while I had Chops Ricebox (Php 145).

We both chose soy garlic for our chicken. Chops are 2 huge pieces boneless chicken with rice and drinks. The chicken skin was flavorful. I liked the glaze that I wish it was saucier. :)
For dessert, I had Banoffee Pie Ko-Yo or Korean Yogurt (Php 75).

Now I understand what the craze is about. I liked Bon Chon Chicken and I see myself returning to try more of this Korean goodness. Seriously, I'd love to munch on those crunchy twice-fried chicken again.
Thanks for the wonderful treat! Anyone who wants to take me to Chic-Boy? ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm not really a big fan of Bon Chon. At first, I really enjoyed their Chicken, but as I eat more, I get the "sawa factor".
But anyway, great blog! Maybe I'll try some of their food other than the chicken. Haha!

DeleteI haven't tried this before but I've been hearing mixed reviews. Some like it, some don't. Guess it's a matter of preferences. =)
