Late Lunch at Italianni's

While spending a lazy afternoon in the Ermita area, my friend and I decided to have late lunch at Italianni's. The place was quiet when we arrived, as most of the customers that time preferred to stay outside. It gave us the freedom to choose which booth to sit. hehehe. :P

As we wait for our orders, we were served the complimentary bread with olive oil dip. I had Ginger Watermelon smoothie (Php 140) while my friend got Bottomless Iced Tea (Php 110).

Ginger Watermelon

Though I always order watermelon smoothie whenever available, it's my first time to try it blended with ginger. It was very refreshing with a nice kick from the ginger.

Instead of having pizza, we opted to try the Flat Bread. We tried the Pancetta & Pesto (Php 425).

Served with alfalfa sprouts on top, it kinda reminded me of panizza. The flatbread is a bit salty because of the pancetta but balanced well by the pesto and cheese. We both loved it!

For pasta, we ordered Fettucine Tartufo E Prosciutto (Php 550).

Fettucine Tartufo E Prosciutto

A truffle oil-based pasta dish with prosciutto, it looks so simple yet it was bursting with flavor when I took my first bite. It completely got me that I almost licked the plate clean. :)

For dessert, we shared a Mango Panna Cotta (Php 295) while I sip a cup of Americano (Php 95), and my friend enjoys a Hot Jasmine Tea (Php 95).

The Mango Panna Cotta is flooded with mango syrup that complements the creamy panna cotta. A good ending to a lovely meal.

I have always loved authentic Italian food that I wouldn't mind paying more than my usual for it. Though the service was a bit off during this visit, I would love to go back to Italianni's again for delectable Italian fare.
