Cafe Publico

Note: Cafe Publico has moved to 2nd Floor Promenade New Wing.

I was again invited by Openrice to try this newest hangout place in Promenade Greenhills called Cafe Publico. I've read about the delicious gelatos Cafe Publico has to offer, and its too bad I didn't buy the group deal when it was offered a few months ago.

Entering Cafe Publico is like time travelling to an old European cafe, every part of the resto--from the walls to the ceilings--is well-detailed. What caught my attention were the giant chess table and the sorbetero cart. :) Aside from the giant chess table, other board games like Monopoly and Scrabble are free to use.

Savoury Dips and Chips

To start our meal, we were served all the savoury dips and chips. Each dip is served with crostini and bread sticks. I love anything cheesy and a little mild, so I liked the Spinach and Cheese (Php 280) and the Ham & Mushroom dips (Php 280).

If you prefer a stronger flavor, you'll love the Chicken Liver Pistachio Pate (Php 280) and Crab Artichoke (Php 280). Though I'm not much into liver, I tried it and it's really good. :)

Nachos and Dips

We were also served Creamed Corn with Nachos (Php 225) and Moroccan Beef Chili with Nachos (Php 245).

I love Nachos and I love corn, but I really prefer something stronger with nachos. Moroccan Beef Chili is really spicy, which I really love.

Pasta

We were also served delicious pasta dishes:

Pesto and Cream Spaghetti
Three-Cheese Beef Lasagna
Sausage and Spinach Spaghetti

They have Pesto & Cream Spaghetti (Php 280) if you want to be a little healthy. I fell in love with the Three-Cheese Beef Lasagna (Php 295), this is something I'd order the next time I visit Cafe Publico. If you want a meaty pasta, Sausage & Spinach Spaghetti (Php 290) fits the bill. I think they used homemade sausage for this particular dish.

Spicy Tuna Spaghetti
Mushroom and Truffle Cream Spaghetti

They also served Spicy Tuna Spaghetti (Php 280) and Mushroom & Truffle Cream Spaghetti (Php 310). I like tuna so I wished they put more tuna flakes to the dish. The bestseller is the Mushroom & Truffle Cream Spaghetti, it was gone a few minutes after it arrived at our table.

Gelato

My visit will not be complete if I won't try their gelatos. Cafe Publico is known for its unique and yummy flavors. For the undecided, you can have a free taste from each flavor. :)

Must-try flavors are Toothpaste, Sophia Loren, Thai Tea, Blushing Geisha and Cream for the Gods. I should be describing what each gelato flavors taste like, but decided not to. You really have to visit Cafe Publico to find out. :)

I'll most definitely go back and treat myself a gelato. :)

Thanks for having us, Cafe Publico.
