I've been working in Ortigas for years, and though I have been here for quite a long time, I still haven't been to a lot of hang-out places around this area.
I was glad to chill out last weekend in one of the newest bars and resto in this business district called Descanzo Bar & Resto.
Descanzo, which means "to relax" in Spanish, is located at the heart of Ortigas. Opened last February 2014, the place is open for breakfast to late dinners and drinks.
We were able to try some of their dishes and sample their cocktails as well while listening to live music. :)
We were served their appetizers: Ginataang Kuhol (Php 180), Quesadilla (Php 150) and Nachos (Php 110).

A popular exotic side dish, I liked the Ginataang Kuhol, but it can be better if added some heat into it. I liked the Quesadilla and the salsa, I found the serving of the Nachos quite generous for its price.
We also had the Tuna Panini (Php 120) and Salami Sardines Pizza (Php 140).

Descanzo also offers a wide range of alcoholic drinks, including the Blue Margarita (Php 120) and Long Island (Php 120).
The Frozen Margarita (Php 120) was my drink of choice for the evening, while my friends grabbed some beer.

There is a live performance every Thursday, and song requests are also welcome. :)
Descanzo also caters to private parties and can accommodate around 100 people at the same time; so if you're looking for a place to get-together with friends and workmates or a place to chill out, Descanzo is the perfect spot for you.
Thanks to Descanzo for having us.
