B & P: Just Like Home

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

A new breakfast place has just moved in!

B&P is the newest brand of the Cravings Group and promises quality breakfast dishes and beyond. B&P, by the way, means Bea and Pia, from the names of the granddaughters of Ms. Annie Guerrero, the founder of Cravings.

I was invited last weekend during the soft opening of B&P to try out their dishes.

Homey is an understatement in describing this place. It looks like a dream kitchen, with interesting yet simple designs. The kitchen has huge windows where you can watch the chefs while they create your food.

Here are the dishes that we were able to try:

For Breakfast Specialties, we were served Creole Style Eggs (Php 290) and Salmon Hash and Eggs (Php 290).

Creole Style Eggs
Salmon Hash and Eggs

The Creole Style Eggs has two poached eggs on top of a beef patty, melted Swiss cheese, and buttermilk cream sauce. It was truly enjoyable wiping the buttermilk cream sauce off the dish with bread. One healthy dish is the Salmon Hash and Eggs, served with two poached eggs and homemade fries. Both dishes are simple yet satisfying.

For the health-conscious foodies, B&P has Grandma's Get Fit Menu with interesting dishes like Zumba (Php 265).

Zumba

Zumba has three scrambled egg whites with white mushrooms, steamed spinach, goat cheese, and sliced tomato.

For Filipino-inspired breakfast dishes, B&P has Our Chef's Table, served on stone pots to keep it hot while eating it. We tried the Don Malutong (Php 275), Primera Tapa (Php 280), and Salpy Cow (Php 290).

Don Malutong
Primera Tapa
Salpy Cow

All three dishes we tried are served with scrambled eggs and garlic rice. Don Malutong is a crispy pork belly, that is still crunchy after sitting at the table for quite a while. I highly recommend this dish. Primera Tapa is premium Angus beef tapa while Salpy Cow is tender beef chunks with special sauce. Both dishes are very tender as well.

For the heavy eaters or for sharing, there's Hall of Fame. We were served BnP Chick to Chick (Php 425) and Baby Back Ribs (Php 390).

Baby Back Ribs

BnP Chick to Chick has buttermilk battered chicken served with pancake and peppered gravy. It's one of the best homemade style fried chicken I've tried! The dish is good for 2-3 persons. Another impressive dish is the Baby Back Ribs, with fall-off-the-bone meat served with Texan BBQ sauce. It's reasonably priced too! :)

Not to miss are Omelettes and Pasta Dishes like the Baxter (Php 175), The Heat is On (Php 175), and Baked Macaroni (Php 190).

The Heat is On
Baked Macaroni

Baxter is eggs with grilled onions, spinach, mushrooms, avocado with buttered toast on the side. It's comforting and very healthy. The Heat is On is for people with a thing for anything spicy. It has spicy sausage, cheddar cheese, jalapeño chili with sour cream and salsa. One of the best comfort dishes is the Baked Macaroni, with bolognese, bechamel, and cheese sauce.

Another breakfast staple is pancakes, and B&P does theirs quite well. We were served Triple Decker (Php 220) and Pancake Supreme (Php 210).

Triple Decker
Pancake Supreme

The Triple Decker is three layers of pancakes filled with Nutella, fresh banana, and caramel, topped with whipped cream. I have a thing for bananas and an addiction to Nutella, so it suits me really well. More Nutella, please!

Pancake Supreme is five layers of pancake filled with strawberry, blueberry, banana, orange, and mango. It's a fruity and healthy delight that can be shared by 3-4 people.

B&P also serves refreshing coolers and shakes like the Lemon Celery Pandan (Php 110), which has boba pearls at the bottom that pops when you bite on it. However, I do hope that they'll serve coffee and hot chocolate also.

As a huge fan of breakfast, I loved my whole experience at B&P. The dishes were freshly prepared, like how it was prepared at home. Most dishes can be shared, and the prices are quite reasonable. I see myself coming back to savor the delicious dishes of B&P.

Thanks to B&P for having us.

  1. In all fairness, the food does look good. I love breakfast so this should go on my must-try list. The baked macaroni doesn't look like a baked macaroni. It looks like a viand, lol. And damn it! Baby back ribs!
