Before we had dessert and wine pairing at The Cake Club, we indulged with the savory dishes of The Cake Club. I've tried some of the dishes during my visit to Diamond Hotel's Lobby Lounge, and I was more than happy to have those dishes again.
For starters, we had the French Onion Soup (Php 250).
French Onion Soup |
The onion flavor I was looking for wasn't exactly spot on, but I appreciate the Emmentale that came with the soup.
For salad, we were served the GM's Favorite (Php 210).
GM's Favorite |
GM's Favorite has forest mushrooms, fresh buffalo cheese with balsamic vinaigrette. A refreshing way to start a meal.
A visit to The Cake Club wouldn't be complete without Truffle Fries (Php 180).
Truffle Fries |
Sprinkled with sea salt flakes and truffle oil, I just couldn't have enough of this! :)
For main dishes, we had Sato-San's Mentaiko Spaghetti (Php 370) and Porcini Mushroom Crepe (Php 420).
Sato-San's Mentaiko Spaghetti |
Porcini Mushroom Crepe |
Sato-San's Mentaiko Spaghetti has cream sauce, spicy cod roe and topped with dried seaweed while Porcini Mushroom Crepe has parmesan and Emmentale cheese and light cream sauce. I was floored by the Mentaiko Spaghetti, the spiciness balances well with the creaminess of the pasta. It easily became my favorite dish that evening.
We also had the Baked Salmon (Php 455), Roast Chicken (Php 395) and the Slow-Roasted Beef Belly (Php 395).
Baked Salmon |
Roast Chicken |
Served with saffron risotto, the Baked Salmon is a healthy choice at The Cake Club. Served with delicious gravy, the Roast Chicken isn't something you should ignore.
Slow-Roasted Beef Belly |
Another delectable dish is the Slow-Roasted Beef Belly. Served with brown rice, horseradish cream and honey roasted baby carrots, the meat just melts in your mouth. Even the baby carrots were so good, it deserves to go as a separate menu item.
The Cake Club isn't just about the popular desserts as they serve hotel-quality dishes as well. More than enough reason to visit and enjoy a good meal.
