The Lobby Lounge at Diamond Hotel (Part 1)

I was recently invited by Diamond Hotel to try their newest dining attraction, the Lobby Lounge.

The Lobby Lounge exudes luxury with its contemporary interiors that are stylish and inviting, complemented by a delectable and upscale selection of culinary offers.

The Lobby Lounge offers Diamond Hotel's bestselling cakes, pastries, and an updated a la carte menu selection.  Enjoy a cup of Kohikan or Nespresso coffee or Hediard Tea over these delicious dishes.

Starters

For starters, we had soups: French Onion Soup (Php 250) and Zucchini Cream Soup (Php 250).

French Onion Soup
Zucchini Cream Soup

The French Onion Soup is beef broth with croutons with melted Emmentale on top, while Zucchini Cream has Parmesan cheese, roasted tomatoes, and basil. Just dip the crispy Parmesan cheese to the soup for more flavor. I prefer the mild flavor of the Zucchini Cream Soup.

We also had the bestselling dishes, Truffle Fries (Php 200) and the Foie Gras Macaroon (Php 150 per piece).

Truffle Fries
Foie Gras Macaroons

Our group's favorite, the Truffle Fries, are cooked in truffle oil, sprinkled with sea salt flakes, and served with garlic mayo or ketchup. It's the only dish that I think should not be shared (I'm mean, I know). The Foie Gras Macaroon is Chef Nick Stoyanov's signature savory macaroon. The strong flavor from the foie gras complements the sweetness of the macaroon.

Salads

For the salad, we had Smoked Salmon Caesar (Php 620).

Smoked Salmon Caesar

The Smoked Salmon Caesar has lettuce, smoked salmon, Prosciutto, soft boiled egg, and Grana Padano cheese. I'm not much into salads but I love their healthy take on a caesar salad.

Sandwich

We also had these sandwiches: Spicy Pickled Sardines (Php 390) and BLT (Php 475). We also had a taste of the Lamb Burger (Php 510). The sandwiches come with a side of fries.

Spicy Pickled Sardines
BLT

The Spicy Pickled Sardines has sardines, cucumbers, tomato, pickled red onions, and lettuce. I found the BLT a little too salty for my taste, so I liked the sardines sandwich more.

Lamb Burger

The Lamb Burger has a huge lamb patty with Feta cheese, Harissa yogurt, and fries on a yellow bun. It was really delicious! Burger fanatics, you must try this!

Pasta

We were also served these delectable pasta dishes: Fresh Tomato Pappardelle (Php 470) and Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli (Php 455).

Fresh Tomato Pappardelle
Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli

Fresh Tomato Pappardelle has sausage, forest mushrooms, sage, and goat cheese while Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli have sage, brown butter, and walnuts. The Fresh Tomato Pappardelle has a spicy kick but I loved both dishes.

Entrees

We also tried the following entrees: Slow-Roasted Beef Belly (Php 480) and Lamb Pot Pie (Php 620).

Slow-Roasted Beef Belly
Lamb Pot Pie

The Slow-Roasted Beef Belly is served with carrots, lettuce, and red rice. The meat is really tender, I can easily finish the whole dish. The Lamb Pot Pie has braised lamb shank, chickpeas, and rockets served with arugula salad. This dish has a really strong flavor. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this dish.

  1. What's emmentale? And don't you think their macaroon is a bit pricey/ not worth the price? Thanks!

    1. Hi Justin! Emmentale is a kind of cheese. Foie gras is a bit expensive hence the price of the foie gras macaroon. :)
