Chowdown Cebu: Krua Thai

Update: Krua Thai is rebranded to Siam by Krua Thai

Since we stayed at Crown Regency Mactan, we had lots of time to explore the restaurants around Lapu-Lapu City. We were able to explore some foodie places at Mactan Marina Mall, which is a cab or jeepney ride away from the hotel.

We were looking around Marina Mall for a place where we could have dinner when Krua Thai caught my eye. Yeah, I was craving Thai food for quite a while so this is such a good timing.

Krua Thai is a spacious restaurant with beautiful Thai-inspired decorations. The friendly staff will greet you in Thai (a phrase that I forgot) as you enter. As I've noticed, most customers are tourists, since the Mactan Marina Mall is also a multicab ride away from the airport.

For the appetizer, we ordered the Thai Spring Rolls (Php 95).

Thai Spring Rolls

I love spring rolls, and I really liked that their spring rolls are huge and quite flavorful too.

We also had Traditional Pad Thai (Php 180) and Crunchy Chicken in Peanut Sauce (Php 180).

A visit to a Thai resto isn't complete if I wouldn't order Pad Thai. Their version is just delicious! I should have ordered the Pad Thai Noodles with Egg (Php 200). The Crunchy Chicken would seem like an ordinary dish but it was damn good! The peanut sauce makes a lot of difference. I loved this dish so much that I took home what was left to finish it. :)

For drinks, we had bottomless Siam Lemongrass Iced Tea (Php 60). It was quite a steal for me, but it was too sweet.

For dessert, we got Sticky Rice with Mango (Php 90).

Sticky Rice with Mango

I could say that it wasn't the best version of sticky rice but I appreciate the star-shaped dessert. The mango was sweet too. I just wished they added syrup to make it more special.

It was a satisfying dinner at Krua Thai. The dishes are reasonably priced and the service is impressive. If you're in Cebu and craving for Thai, you should definitely visit Krua Thai or their other restos, Siam and Blue Elephant Bistro.

    1. Hi Blaine! Yes, Thai is quite similar with Filipino cuisine, though most of their dishes are spicy. :)
