Chowdown Cebu: Mooon Cafe

Yes, it is spelled with three O's. I've seen Mooon Cafe during my December trip to Cebu and during my mall tripping in Davao but wasn't able to visit until recently. Mooon Cafe is a Mexican-inspired restaurant serving affordable Mexican dishes and more. It originated in Cebu and currently has branches in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Manila. :)

The whole restaurant looks like a Mexican kitchen, from the decors to the tables and chairs. The colorful environment was really inviting. :)

We ordered dishes under Mexican Mooon: Quesadilla Veracruz (Php 165) and Beef Burrito (Php 95).

Quesadilla Veracruz

Quesadilla Veracruz is toasted whole flour tortilla with sauteed shrimps, onions, and cheese. It is topped with salsa fresca and sour cream. It was light yet flavorful. Each slice has a piece of shrimp, which I appreciated.

Beef Burrito

Beef Burrito is rolled tortilla stuffed with beef fillings, lettuce, salsa rojo, refined beans, and cheese. It was smaller than the other burritos I've tried, but I loved the generous toppings of lettuce and cheese on top. :)

We also had their coolers. Aside from Coolers, they also serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

I had the Stress Buster Smoothie (Php 65) while my friend has Reviving Fruit Combos (Php 65).

Reviving Fruit Combos

The Stress Buster Smoothie is a combination of banana, coconut milk, and cinnamon. I found it really good, considering that I'm not much into coconut milk or gata. The cinnamon gives it the much-needed kick. The Reviving Fruit Combos is a mix of Pomelo, Pineapple, and Mango. The pineapple overpowers the drink, but it was also refreshing. :)

I only found out that they already have branches here in Manila as I began researching this place. They currently have branches in SM North EDSA and SM Fairview. I really loved my Mooon Cafe experience, and I'd love to visit their Manila location soon. :)

  1. I am not a fan of Mexican food, no thanks to Mexicali. But that quesadilla veracruz looks appetizing. I might try Mooon for that alone hahaha...
