Fely J's Kitchen: Desserts

After our dinner at Seryna, Little Tokyo, the PEx Gluttony Society headed to Fely J's Kitchen for desserts (coffee, beer, and more).

Fely J's Kitchen is one of the restaurants under the LJC Group, which also owns Lorenzo's Way, Cafe Adriatico, Cafe Havana, and other restaurants. Fely J's Kitchen is named after Felicidad de Jesus-Cruz, the mother of the late restaurateur Larry J. Cruz. Fely J's offers Filipino recipes, some of which are Fely J's recipes.

A coffee addict, I ordered a Cafe Latte (Php 95) and Tequila Chocolate Obsession (Php 185 per slice).

Tequila Chocolate Obsession

The Cafe Latte has this nice froth and strong flavor which I really liked. I wished there's a bigger size for this. The Tequila Chocolate Obsession is a homemade, tequila-flavored chocolate mousse cake. The tequila hint blends well with the sweetness of the chocolate. A slice is good for sharing.

My friends had Sikreto ni Maria Clara (Php 165) and Claude's Dream (Php 130).

Sikreto ni Maria Clara is served at another LJC restaurant, Bistro Remedios for the past 20 years. So what's the secret? It's suman (a type of rice cake) and mangga (mango) on melted macapuno ice cream. It was yummy, but I was expecting more from this dish.

I had Claude's Dream when we visited Lorenzo's Way. It is macapuno ice cream with pandan jelly and coconut meat. It's their awesome take on buko pandan.

I'd love to visit Fely J's Kitchen again and try their Filipino specialties.
