Wild Ginger at Powerplant Mall

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

My friend and I went to Powerplant Mall in Rockwell to have dinner at Wild Ginger, a restaurant that serves Southeast Asian dishes.

The menu is a mix of Thai, Indonesian, Filipino, Singaporean, Malaysian and Indian cuisines. I do love Asian dishes and I was so happy to have found this restaurant.

For starters, we had Roti Prata with Curry Dipping Sauce (Php 155).

The roti prata was served warm and I love how the flavors of the spices burst in my mouth.

We also ordered the Beef Rendang (Php 285) and Pad Thai (Php 245).

The meat in the rendang was very tender and flavorful. I didn't even mind the spiciness, I just dug in. This is best eaten with lots of rice. :P

I would love to try other dishes but I miss eating Pad Thai. Wild Ginger's version has huge shrimps on it. It reminds me of the pad thai dishes I had in Thailand.

I would have loved to try more, but we were already full (and I'm eyeing another place for dessert). Wild Ginger is a place where Asian cuisine fanatics (like myself) should visit. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. I would love to visit this place again.

  1. The Beef Rendang looks like calderata. Does it taste like one?
