Merry Christmas!

Hope you're having a great time with family and friends while you are reading this post.

I call this year my relaxed year, as I focused more on the food (and travels) near my home base. Still, it was as adventure-filled as I want it to be.

Here's a rundown of awesome things I have tried and have been to this year:

I consider Chef Robby Goco's new baby, Green Pastures one of the best restaurants I have tried this year. It broke my "no lining up" policy. I would probably visit this place again soon. Impressive culinary sanctuaries I have visited this year is a nearby restaurant, Madison's Bistro Moderne, a sophisticated restobar NEST, a hidden steakhouse Vittorio's, and Filipino restaurant with a French flare, Locavore in Kapitolyo.

I feel honored to be invited to Ippudo and Teddy's Bigger Burgers days before both restaurants officially open. I am sincerely humbled by these opportunities.

I also caught on the third wave coffee bug and visited coffee shops such as Habitual Coffee, Epic Coffee Roastery (now Epic Bike Cafe), Commune, Starbucks Reserve, Kuppa Roastery & Cafe and Afters.

In terms of travel, flying was kept to a minimum this year with Thailand (particularly Bangkok and the city I have been dreaming to visit for a while, Chiang Mai) as my sole destination for this year.

However, I had the chance to explore the places I can drive to in a few hours from my home. I went for a weekend with blogger friends at Casa San Pablo, camped out with college friends at Mountain Lake Resort in Caliraya and had a quick getaway in Subic Bay.

Though work has been very hectic and will continue to be more hectic this coming year, I am looking forward to more (and probably crazier) experiences as I go. Not slowing down anytime soon.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mango Bravo by Conti's

Mother dear celebrated her birthday last month, and as I always do, I bought her a birthday cake. Last year, I got her Grandma's Chocolate Cake from Purple Oven, this time it's Mango Bravo by Conti's.
One of Conti's bestselling cakes, Mango Bravo is available in two sizes: Mini (Php 665) and Regular (Php 1195).
Thinking about the amount of food that will be stored over the weekend, I bought the Mini.

Mango Bravo is a wafer-based cake with cream, topped with slices of ripe mangoes, with choco syrup and cashew nuts. Oh, this cake needs to be frozen, btw (super thanks to my friend Mike for taking me and my cake home safely. hehe.)

Chocolat: Deep Dark Chocolate Cakes

I've always been curious about Chocolat eversince a friend told me it's really good. PLUS it was included in Spot.ph's Top Ten Chocolate Cakes in Manila so I suggested that my friends and I meet up at this hidden cake store in Katipunan area.

Chocolat offers signature chocolate cakes and other specialty cakes. The place is a small shop that could only sit 10 persons. Customers usually drop by to buy cakes for takeaway.

Pimples No More with AcneCare #MayPagAsaPa

Acne is one of the most common skin problems among teenagers. Also, acne can affect adults.
What causes acne? According to MayoClinic, the four main factors that cause acne are oil production, dead skin cells, clogged pores and bacteria. Hormones, certain medications, diet and stress are also huge contributors that can trigger acne.
Here are the basic prevention tips you can do to avoid acne:
1. Use less oil-based skin products.
Using oil-based sunscreen, cosmetics, and other skin care products makes you more prone to acne.
2. Watch what touches your face.
Avoid resting your hands and other objects (like your phone screen) to your face.
3. Don't prick your pimples
Just don't.
Here comes a more effective solution to prevent acne: Acne Care Beauty Soap.
