Chocolat: Deep Dark Chocolate Cakes

I've always been curious about Chocolat ever since a friend told me it's really good. PLUS it was included in Spot.ph's Top Ten Chocolate Cakes in Manila so I suggested that my friends and I meet up at this hidden cake store in Katipunan area.

Chocolat offers signature chocolate cakes and other specialty cakes. The place is a small shop that could only seat 10 persons. Customers usually drop by to buy cakes for takeaway.

We tried these delectable cakes:

Deep Dark Classic
Bailey's Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Hazelnut

For chocolate purists, Deep Dark Classic (Php 65) is the one for you. It wasn't too sweet but they didn't scrimp on the yummy frosting for this one. If you want a bit of twist, try the Bailey's Chocolate Cake (Php 72), which has a little but not an overwhelming hint of Bailey's and Chocolate Hazelnut (Php 82).

Death by Tablea

NY Cheesecake

The real star is the Death by Tablea (Php 88), which is has a bittersweet blend of tablea and condensed milk. It was sinfully good that I bought a 6-inch cake for my mom (it's the day before Mother's day).

If you want to try something non-chocolate, try the NY Cheesecake (Php 110), which is really creamy! The texture is perfect and it wasn't too sweet.

Chocolat also serves hot and cold beverages that would go well with the delicious cakes. They serve hot tea, hot chocolates, milkshakes, and coffee. I got myself a regular Cafe Latte (Php 65), which is very milky for my taste (maybe I really just prefer stronger coffee).

Cafe Latte

What can I say about Chocolat? I simply fell in love.
