The Frazzled Cook at Tomas Morato

My friend Lovelee and I recently had dinner at one of the places I have been wanting to visit for a long time, The Frazzled Cook in Tomas Morato.

This lovely old house is quite spacious, with a function room available, but it is known to be packed every night so a reservation is a must.

For starters, we ordered Herbed Chicken Salad (Php 275) and Frazzled Sisig (Php 225).

Herbed Chicken Salad

Frazzled Sisig
The Herbed Chicken Salad is served with huge pieces of herbed chicken, greens, mango strips with basil vinaigrette while the Frazzled Sisig is the classic pork sisig. I loved the sweet notes in the salad and the crunchiness of the Frazzled Sisig. Both dishes are highly recommended.

For our main dishes, we had the Truffle Pasta (Php 325 for small, Php 515 for sharing) and Lengua with Mushroom and Corn (Php 350).

It is not a secret how much I love truffle, so when I saw that they have truffle pasta, I almost flipped. The Frazzled Cook's Truffle Pasta is mixed pasta with sauteed Portobello mushrooms with homemade white truffle sauce. It was less creamy than I expected but the flavor of the truffle is dominant and the pasta was al dente. Love this!

The Lengua with Mushroom and Corn was straightforward, stewed, and served with white sauce, mushroom, and corn. The dish was quite generous, and the lengua was so tender that it almost melts as I savor each bite. The sauce was delicious but could be improved by adding more herbs.

The Frazzled Cook also serves an array of desserts which we also tried. My friend had a slice of Sansrival (Php 145) while I had NY Cheesecake (Php 165).

Both desserts are satisfactory, but I felt like it was from an outsourced supplier. I hope I'm wrong with this though.

Overall, my experience with The Frazzled Cook was amazing. The ambiance is perfect, the service was excellent (our server was so attentive), and the food was impressive.

I would love to take the boyfie and have him try the Civet Coffee with me soon. ;)
