Quick Review: Uncle Cheffy's

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

It's been a while since I first visited Uncle Cheffy's in SM Megamall. Formerly named Chef's Quarter, it was reasonable that they rebranded to their more popular restaurant name. In fact, since the rebranding, the entire menu and interiors haven't changed.

A friend and I had dinner recently and shared a medium Seafood Lovers Brick-Oven Panizza (Php 220).

Seafood Lovers Panizza

Seafood Lovers has salmon, shrimp, clams, squid, herbs, onion as toppings, which wasn't as abundant as we expected. However, the panizza crust was as chewy as I remember it.

Salads are supposed to be healthy, but not in the case of Uncle Cheffy Salad (Php 395). It was unusual that the panizza was served before the salad.

Uncle Cheffy Salad

A hardcore treat of mesclun, asparagus, potato wedges, and crispy pork belly in dijonaise dressing. Yes, you read that right: CRISPY pork belly. We were thinking of a decent amount of crispy belly bits on top of the salad instead of the huge pork belly we got. Well, we aren't complaining! :p

Our dinner was overall decent, despite the lack of toppings on the panizza, I would still go back to Uncle Cheffy's. Hopefully, Uncle Cheffy's would think of redesigning the interiors of this branch soon.

  1. That's one appetizing salad Michy! Not the usual way to describe salad, but that huge pork on top of it is appetizing :)
