Chowdown Cebu: Casa Verde

One of the popular restaurants that we visited during our Cebu vacation is Casa Verde. I've read and heard about this place from every person who has been to Cebu, so we really had to give this place a visit.

Though I have seen the Ayala Center branch, which is near Dessert Factory and Harbour City, I opted to visit the Ramos branch, its main branch.

Casa Verde (Spanish for "greenhouse"), was named after the Ramos branch, which used to be an ancestral house. They serve American comfort food at reasonable prices. The ambiance was quite classy and cozy. There's also an alfresco area if you want something a bit more laid-back.

Inside Casa Verde

For the appetizer, we had Bacon and Cheese Potato Skins (Php 118).

Bacon and Cheese Potato Skins

Though named potato skins, it was actually potato halves with bacon and melted cheese served with sour cream dip. I love potato, and I love this one. I wish I could order more, but I had to prepare for bigger dishes.

For our main dish, we ordered the bestselling dish in their menu: Brian's Ribs (Php 208)

Brian's Ribs

Brian's Ribs are baked pork ribs with piquet sauce, served with rice and corn & carrots. My friend and I shared this dish, but even with our huge appetites, we weren't able to finish it. It was nicely cooked and the flavor was just right.

Another humongous item that they have is the Milky Way (Php 288)

comparing the Milky Way with an ordinary glass

The biggest milkshake I have ever seen! It's a large chocolate shake with chocolate ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream on top. :) We had to ask for help before we can do anything disastrous. The friendly server obligingly transferred our milkshake in a pitcher. Yes, the pitcher was full. The Milky Way wasn't too thick, which made it easier for us to consume it.

For comfort food and relaxing ambiance, Casa Verde is the place you should visit. I'd definitely visit this place again, and try their 9-inch burger next time. :)

  6. Thanks for making a review of this place! I've been planning to dine here when I was Cebu but was afraid that the price might be too much for me. Apparently, they're pretty affordable. I also heard that the food from their branch at IT park and Ayala are more expensive.
