Sentosa Singaporean Restaurant

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

I invited a friend for a quick dinner to somewhere Asian (since I was craving for it) and we discovered this place called Sentosa Singaporean Restaurant. This place seems new since I haven't seen this when I last went to Shangri-la Mall a few months ago.

Sentosa has impressive light fixtures and relaxing ambiance. The customers are just starting to arrive as my friend and I were seated.

For an appetizer, we ordered Popiah (Php 165), or Singaporean Spring Rolls.

Popiah

I found the Popiah wrapper a little thick but the filling has a very distinct taste (my friend pointed out that it might be the mushroom) that you wouldn't bother to dip it in the sauce.

We also had Phad Thai Noodles (Php 230), which I liked.

Phad Thai Noodles

The Phad Thai Noodles is beautifully wrapped in scrambled eggs with lots of bean sprouts and tofu. I've always loved Pad Thai, and I liked their version. The sweetness is just right for me.

For our main dish, we ordered Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice (quarter, Php 220).

Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice

Hainanese Boneless Chicken Rice comes with a cup of rice and soup. The chicken is really flavorful, which Hainanese Chicken is known for. I loved that it's boneless (who doesn't?) and a little sweet.

For authentic Singaporean food, Sentosa Singaporean Restaurant is one place you should try. I must commend the staff for being accommodating (and giving us an extra bowl of soup). The servings are good for sharing and affordable too!

I'll visit you again soon.

  11. I don't understand what authentic Singaporean food is, especially since the citizens in their country are a mixture of different cultures.
