Delicious Finds at Best Food Forward 2014!

After years of missing out, I finally got to attend Best Food Forward, held last October 11-12, 2014. Best Food Forward is an annual food fair that features amazing food finds around the metro. :)

Here are some the food discoveries (or re-discoveries) I found during the event:

1. Crack Pie by The Red Hot Oven

We were told that this dessert was named such because it should be as addictive as crack. And it really is. :P

It comes in 5 different flavors: Classic (Php 700), Peanut Butter (Php 750), Pili (Php 850), Coconut (Php 750), and Coffee (Php 750).

2. Peppermint Brownie Ice Cream by Moo-La-La!

I rarely liked anything minty on my dessert, but Moo-La-La's Peppermint Brownie was an exception. This new homemade ice cream brand also creates Filipino-inspired flavors, such as the Tibok-Tibok. I would love to try their other flavors soon. A pint is only Php 275 each, and they also cater to parties. :)

3. Voila Jars

I once tried to do a mug cake at home, but it wasn't that successful, so I was glad there's Voila! Old Fashioned Jar Cakes. To prepare, you just need to add water into the jar, pop into the microwave and voila!

Current flavors are Belgian Fudge No. 5, Peanut Butter Mudcake, and Red Velvet Vanilla Fudge, for only Php 150 per jar.

4. Deep Dips Foodstuff by Chef Arnold Bernardo

Perfect for appetizers or light snacks are the Spicy Tinapa in Tomato Sauce and Tuna Puttanesca Topper. Chef Arnold himself explained to us the flavors of his gourmet products. Other products are gourmet bagoong, gourmet tuyo, and many more. Awesome giveaways to food lovers.

5. Cocoa Cashew Nut Milk by The Daily Jusa

The Daily Jusa, aside from cleanses from fruits and veggies, also has nut milk. I really liked the Cocoa Cashew Nut Milk (Php 150), which is all-natural, lactose-free, and dairy-free. Cool nuts. :p

6. The Happy Monster

Choosing one cake I liked from The Happy Monster is a challenge. I liked the Banana Cheesecake, Elvis Pie and Snickers Pie! But they also have Tiramisu Cheesecake and Chocolate Cheesecake, which makes it more difficult to decide. May I have all? :)

7. Hello5 Coffee by Bennett and Palmer

This Vietnamese coffee brand comes in 5 variants: Original, Organic, Mondo, Deluxe, and Regular. You can even purchase the gift set, which comes with the coffee strainer. If you're one of my friends, you probably know that you can give this to me on my birthday *ahem* :p

8. Kewpie

Kewpie is a Japanese brand of dressings, Japanese mayo, and sandwich spread. I have tried their potato salad using their products, and I will definitely use Kewpie the next time I make potato salad or any salad at home. Kewpie is available in the supermarket, btw.

9. Triple Dark Chocolate Tablea Fudge Bars by ChocoATBP

More of rediscovery, as I first tried their products last year at Foodgasm 3, I consider these bad boys one of the best dark chocolate desserts I have tried. The owner was also kind enough to let us taste Chocolate de Batirol, made from the traditional kitchen equipment.

10. Melodia Wines by Nuestros Robles

Another rediscovery was Melodia Wines from Argentina. A personal favorite is Rose. Nuestros Robles also distributes EVOO lines called Olivares Mendocinos.

These and a lot more at The Best Food Forward. I really had a great time. I hope I could make it again next year. :)
