Lugang Cafe

There are times that we only get to see every once in a while, and this was one of those moments. One of my friends went home for his annual vacation, and as tradition dictates in our group, we had a lovely dinner at Lugang Cafe

Lugang Cafe is an international restaurant brand offering mainly authentic Taiwanese dishes.

I had a taste of Lugang Cafe last Mega Food Tour, and I was excited to visit it again to try more dishes. I was excited to bring my friends along too.

For starters, we ordered Steamed Shrimp and Pork Shiao Mai (Php 288, 8 pcs) and their bestselling Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (Php 248, 8 pcs).

I could say that their Xiao Long Bao was truly one of the best I've tried so far. It can be challenging to eat, but it's worth it!

We also had Spicy Sliced Offals (Php 280) and Three-Cup Chicken (Php 320).

I was a bit disappointed that the Spicy Sliced Offals wasn't as spicy as I expected, but I loved the Three Cup Chicken, which is a bit sweet, but the ginger balances the flavor beautifully.

We were also able to try the Stir-Fried Beef with Mango Slices (Php 320) and Fried Prawns with Oats (Php 580).

A simple dish but bursting with flavor from the mango slices and bell peppers, and the beef was quite tender as well. We would have loved the Fried Prawns, but it wasn't peeled, so we had to work a bit for it.

Our dinner wouldn't be complete without a noodle dish, so we had the Stir-Fried Beef Noodle with Taiwanese Barbecue Sauce (Php 280).

We skipped the desserts, but we didn't miss the drinks Lugang Cafe has to offer. My friends tried the Strawberry Yogurt Smoothy Drink (Php 180) and Watermelon with Coconut Milk & Sago (Php 150), while I had Cucumber with Mint Juice (Php 150).

But one drink you shouldn't miss is the Traditional Arabian Coffee (Php 240), which is good for sharing.

Lugang Cafe uses a special coffee brewer for this type of coffee. Watching the coffee brew was enough entertainment for our group (especially to me!) You may ask the server for a second refill.

I am utterly amazed at how grandiose the interiors of Lugang Cafe yet the dishes are very reasonably priced. The service was excellent as well. It is best to visit Lugang Cafe in groups as their servings are for sharing, and for you to try more dishes as well. :)

  1. I haven't been back to Lugang Cafe, but your post definitely convinced me to visit soon! I'd probably order the Spicy Sliced Offals. Hoping SM North's is as spicy as we had at the Mega Food Tour. :D
