Bugsy's Bar and Bistro

Note: This location is already closed.

Let me share with you another voucher success story: Bugsy's Bar and Bistro.

Bugsy's Bar and Bistro is a neighborhood bar and bistro offering American comfort food and delectable drinks at affordable prices. Bugsy's is one of the restaurants I've been eyeing for quite a while that when I saw the Groupon deal, I bought vouchers right away.

The deal may be claimed from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, which was perfect for lunch.

The ambiance of the place looks like a classy home, with mostly dark wood interiors and a long red couch for a more comfortable dining experience.

Bugsy's Appetizers

Mozzarella Sticks
Buffalo Tenders
We ordered the bestsellers, Mozzarella Sticks (Php 195) and the Buffalo Tenders (Php 195) for appetizers.

Mozzarella Sticks are deep-fried mozzarella sticks with marinara dip. I didn't know that the mozzarella sticks are fat logs of cheesy cheese. I liked it! It's best eaten while really hot.

Buffalo Tenders is Bugsy's signature dish and included in Spot.ph's Top Ten Buffalo Wings in Manila. These are boneless chicken strips with Bugsy's secret buffalo sauce with blue cheese dip. I'm not too keen on spicy things but I loved it! And it's not messy to eat since it's boneless.

Pasta
Mama Pia's Spicy Tuna Pasta
Since one of my lunch buddies dig pasta, we got Mama Pia's Spicy Tuna Pasta (Php 195). The dish is penne served with spicy cream sauce with tuna chunks. I liked it since I always love tuna.

Main Dishes
Fish and Chips
Italian Sausages
Bugsy Siegel

We had Fish and Chips (Php 215), which is two pieces of battered dory fish fillet with fries and lemon butter sauce. I'd get this dish anytime.

We also got Italian Sausages (Php 175), which are homemade sausages sauteed with onions and served with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes taste really really good that I helped myself with mashed potatoes before the sausages. The sausages were good, but it's more of an appetizer than a main dish.

The main star of the meal is the Bugsy Siegel (Php 595), a USDA Angus Rib Eye (1-inch thick, minimum 400 grams) with red wine sauce, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Damn, I wasn't prepared for such huge steak, three of us shared this but we still weren't able to finish this steak. But I'd love to order this steak again (and come with a more prepared stomach).

Dessert
Bugsy's Chocolate Lava Cake
To finish our bountiful feast, we ordered Bugsy's Chocolate Lava Cake (Php 145). This is a warm and moist chocolate cake filled with chocolate sauce with whipped cream. It was gone after a few minutes, that's how good it was.

I loved our Bugsy's experience! The food, the ambiance, and the service was excellent! We trotted back to our office with uber full tummies and with big smiles on our faces. The only regret I had was I didn't try this earlier.

Can't wait to get back and try to finish a steak by myself, wish me luck.
