My favorite katsu restaurant in Manila, Yabu: The House of Katsu, has recently launched a batch of new limited edition dishes last February 24 and we were given a chance to try them this week.
The newest appetizer is the Crispy Ebi Aioli (Php 380).

This dish is crispy battered shrimps coated with Yabu's special aioli sauce and crunchy furikake chips. I love how simple the Crispy Ebi Aioli looks like but the flavors are a little complicated with the furikake chips and aioli sauce. You must really try this dish.
The new addition to Yabu's Kurobuta line is the Hire Kurobuta (Php 570 for 80g, Php 630 for 120g).

Kurobuta or Black Berkshire Pig is also known as the "kobe beef" of pork. The Hire Kurobuta Katsu is Yabu's take on the most tender pork I have ever tasted without the fat. This heavenly katsu is served with the Karashi tonkatsu sauce which makes it more special. Seriously, the price is really worth it.
If you loved the Ebi Katsu Burger, you will love the Ebi Patty Set (Php 470).

Finally, Shrimp Katsu. The Ebi Patty Set is served with Yabu's special aioli sauce and layu ponzu sauce. I'm certain that the Ebi Patty Set will be the newest bestseller at Yabu. Both seafood and non seafood fanatics will go crazy for this!
Returning to the Yabu menu is the oyster katsu, combined with the beloved Hire Katsu.

The Hire & Oyster Katsu Set (Php 520) is two pieces of Hiroshima Oyster Katsu with Hire Katsu. It is Yabu's version of surf and turf, an unlikely pair you will want to try.
These amazing dishes are available at all Yabu branches for a limited time only, so head on to your favorite Yabu branch and try these as soon as you can. :)
