Katerina's Greek Cuisine

One of the first homegrown restaurants that I have visited in my area is Katerina's Greek Cuisine in Old Town Manassas. I have always been a fan of Mediterranean cuisine and wished the cuisine I grew up with is as healthy as the Greeks.

It was said that this restaurant is always full during weekends, so I was glad we went for lunch on a weekday.

We shared the Greek Sampler ($13) for starters.

Greek Sampler

The Greek Sampler has olives, huge chunks of feta cheese, stuffed grape leaves, tomatoes,  anchovies, cucumber, peppers, pepperoncini, tirokafteri, and tzatziki served with pita bread. The homemade pita bread was delicious on its own, but a lot better with the tzatziki and tirokafteri.

The boyfie had the Greek Salad ($10), which has lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, Kalamata olives, pepperoncinis, feta cheese and special Greek dressing.

Greek Salad

The freshest salad we've had in a while, it comes with homemade pita bread too. :)

I ordered the Mousaka ($15.50), served with a small Greek salad on the side.

Mousaka

Mousaka has layers of sliced roasted eggplant, potatoes, ground beef, topped with bechamel sauce, served with tomato sauce. I always try the Mousaka every time I visit a Greek restaurant, and Katerina's version has the best-looking Mousaka I've had. Not only it is beautiful, the dish was really heavenly!

I was astounded that this quiant-looking restaurant serves the best Greek food I have ever had. The service was excellent and the food was really impressive. I can't wait to visit this place soon!

  1. Thanks for sharing. When it comes to Greek food, I am always getting them at El Greco. Their salad, rotisserie chicken, wraps and kebabs are savory and aromatic. The ambiance is great too. But what is more big in this greek place is their crazy discounts for dine-in and online-orders.
