Home Cocktail Bar and Restaurant, Siem Reap

After eating Khmer food meal after meal, we were already missing Western food. We search around Pub Street area for affordable comfort food, but most places were a little too pricey for us. Good thing we spotted Home Cocktail, located a few blocks away from Pub Street.

Home Cocktail seems to be more popular at night for drinks, but they also serve both Khmer and Western food.

The place was almost empty for late lunch, a good thing for us, so we could sit longer.

For appetizer, we got Bruschetta Pomodoro (1.50 USD or Php 67.50).

Bruschetta Pomodoro

It's basically bread topped with fresh tomatoes and garlic. Nothing special with it though but we wanted something light anyway.

For the main course, I had Beef Stroganoff (4.50 USD or Php 202.50) while my friend ordered Cambodian Beef (5 USD or Php 225).

The Beef Stroganoff was served with mashed potatoes and salad. I loved their homemade mashed potato and was satisfied with the tenderness of the meat. However, my friend's Cambodian Steak was too done that it came out a little tough for her tastes. Aside from that, we found both dishes good enough for its price.

We just had a bit of a problem communicating with the server when my friend asked if she could have mashed potato instead of fries for her steak.

Communication problems aside, the service was great and the prices were very reasonable. I would love to visit this place at night should I return to Siem Reap.

Note: 1 USD = Php 45
