Going Healthy at Chimara Feel Good Kitchen UP Town Center

Searching for places that serve healthy, affordable and delicious seems like a challenge if you are actively trying to keep away from the easiest route like fast food and junk food.

I was glad to visit Chimara Feel Good Kitchen in UP Town Center one weekend for an early dinner with friends.

Chimara, owned by the Taters Group, aims to promote healthy eating without sacrificing the flavors, hence you feel good and healthier.

Chimara serves both Cold&Fresh, which can be served as wrap or salad and Hot&Savory, which can be served as panini, pasta or with rice.

Under the Cold&Fresh, we tried the Pepper Maple Chicken Salad (Php 230), while under Hot&Savory, we had the Faux Beef Salpicao Pasta (Php 180), Tofu Cheese Pesto Pasta (Php 180) and Soy Ginger Chicken Rice (Php 190).

Pepper Maple Chicken Salad

The Pepper Maple Chicken Salad is more the sweet side, with maple-marinated grilled chicken, apples, raisins, cucumber, carrots, sunflower seeds and lettuce with pepper maple vinaigrette.

Tofu Cheese Pesto Pasta
Soy Ginger Chicken Rice

The Faux Beef Salpicao is their vegan beef with salpicao sauce and lots of garlic on pasta. I was hesitant to try it at first, but I was impressed on how the faux beef tasted. I enjoyed this dish so much that I would love to have it again.

The Tofu Cheese Pesto is pesto pasta topped with quezo blanco-topped tofu. This dish was as equally impressive as the Faux Beef Salpicao, and I didn't miss having meat on this pasta dish.

The Soy Ginger Chicken is an outstanding dish of soy ginger chicken breast with snow peas, peanuts and carrots on top of rice. This dish is light but really satisfying.

For drinks, we tried all the juice infusions: I am Calm (Php 80), I am Wise (Php 80), I am Strong (Php 80) and I am Super (Php 80).

Juice Infusions

I am Calm is a fusion of apple, carrot and ginger for destressing, I am Wise is a mix of mango, apple and tomato, I am Strong is a combination of apple, beetroot and carrot while I am Super is a mix of romaine lettuce and apple.

My friends and I were nervous about trying the juice infusions, but found all of them refreshing and delicious.

For dessert, we each had Creme de Cacao Cupcake (Php 95).

Creme de Cacao Cupcake

The Creme de Cacao Cupcake is chocolate cupcake topped with dark chocolate icing. The cupcake was quite dense and the dark chocolate icing was luscious and not too sweet.

Chimara also sells healthy snacks like Heart-y Olive Popcorn, Neo Nachos and the Tofu Chips (which I highly recommend) available in take-away bags.

Chimara Feel Good Kitchen breaks the notion of healthy food as bland and expensive by serving delicious healthy food without burning a hole in your pocket. I would love go back here and try more of what Chimara has to offer.

Thanks to Chimara for having us.
