Red Baron Ribs and Steaks

Note: This restaurant is already closed.

My foodie friends and I were invited to the second branch of Red Baron Ribs and Steaks, located in Bambang, Manila. The Manila branch has just opened last March 2015.

Red Baron started out as a coffee shop but evolved to a ribs & steaks place as they are known now. This small ribs joint is located on top of a car wash, it could be very convenient where you can have your car washed and eat something delicious while you wait.

We started out with a few appetizers and drinks. We were served the Nachorrific (Php 148 for small, Php 258 for big) and Baked Potato Soup (Php 159).

I liked the wanton-like nachos that stays crunchy for quite a long time. The Baked Potato Soup can be quite filling but tastes wonderful while hot.

We also had their simple yet elegant Flakey Tuna Pie (Php 159).

I love anything with tuna, and I love how the warm tuna filling bursts in my mouth as I take a bite.

I also tried a few drinks such as the Nutella Milkshake (Php 155) and the Good Shepherd's Ube (Php 138).

I honestly wasn't expecting that much with their drinks, but it totally brought the house down. I would go to this place just to have their drinks. You should also try their Ice Scramble (Php 138), which reminded me a lot of one of my childhood treats.

We also tried some of their burgers: the Brunch Monster Burger (Php 255) and the Hawaiian Luau Burger (Php 225).

The Brunch Monster Burger is 100% certified Angus burger with egg, bacon, and cheese while the Hawaiian Luau Burger is a combination of 100% certified Angus beef with special rib sauce, ham, tomato, and grilled pineapple. Both are very generous in size and quite delicious. You must try Red Baron's burgers!

While waiting for our ribs and steaks, we were served jars of dried peanuts, a tradition at Red Baron so that guests will have something to munch on as they wait.

For the hard cores, we were served their Smoked Baby Back Ribs (Php 698 for full, Php 275 for solo). The full serving comes with 2 rice and 3 sides.

The ribs are very tender and the sauce, though unnecessary, makes the meat a lot tastier.

We also had the Rib Eye Steak (Php 295) and the Lamb Steak (Php 299).

The Rib Eye Steak and Lamb Steak are served with 1 rice and 1 side. Both portions of meat are juicy and the meats are spiced to perfection. I couldn't stop myself from getting more steaks. I love it!

One of the must-try steaks in Red Baron is the El Diablo Crusty Steak (Php 952).

A 450g heavily marbled Meltique striploin with Red Baron's special chili sauce. Meltique is an Australian brand that produces the world's finest larded beef. The El Diablo truly is not for the weak of heart, the meat is very tender but the heat from chili sauce will hit your palate unforgivingly. If you love spicy, then this one is for you.

For our happy endings, we had the Frozen Crunchy Mango Cake (Php 145 per slice, Php 1350 for whole).

To miss this when you visit Red Baron is a mortal sin. Red Baron's Mango Cake can surely beat the more popular mango cakes around, and I'm not even exaggerating.

Red Baron Ribs & Steaks has truly surprised me in more ways than one. The food, from appetizers to the desserts including the drinks, is very impressive. I would love to visit again to try more about what they offer.

Thanks to Melvin Cheng and Joyce Esteban for having us.
