Amici, Revisited

It has been a while since I last visited Amici, quite long that when I had dinner a few weeks ago with my high school friends, I have noticed that the interiors of the restaurant have changed.

Amici now has a rustic ambiance, a great improvement from its old interiors. I should say I really loved their new look.

We were celebrating our friend's birthday, and though we were pushing for Japanese food, we gave in to her cravings for Italian food. It's her day, after all. :)

We ordered everything to share, starting with the Linguine Al Prosciutto E Tartufo (Php 298).

I have always loved truffle pasta, this lovely dish is made better with prosciutto, shiitake and porcini. I must admit that I emptied the dish (after sharing, of course. :p). I would love to have this pasta again.

For pizza, we had the Sausage and Three-Cheese Pizza (Php 408).

Our pizza of choice is topped with Italian sausage, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, cheese sauce and roasted bell peppers. Although it looks quite simple, the flavors are fantastic, especially to a cheese fanatic like myself. :)

Last dish we had was the Seafood Chowder Risotto (Php 320).

Seafood Chowder Risotto

A bit fried on the outside, the risotto is flavored with saffron and generously topped with clams and mussels. I admittedly am not a huge seafood fan, but I really liked the risotto. Never in my life would I ignore risotto in the menu again.

I am happy to bond with good friends after a long time, and I am happier that our dinner was impressive. I must commend Amici for improving their dishes without having to empty our pockets. I will surely go back here for my Italian food cravings.
