Payday Lunch at Racks

Note: This location is already closed.

My friends and I recently celebrated payday by having lunch at one of my favorite places for ribs:
Racks.

I love how Racks have huge dishes for sharing, excellent service, and reasonable prices.

We started with Classic Ceasar Salad (Php 200 for solo, Php 350 for family).

For our mains, we shared a Racks Classic Pork Ribs (Php 995 for full rack) with coleslaw, mashed potatoes, corn & carrots, and broccoli & cheese. An order of full rack comes with two regular sides, but you may order more sides for Php 60 for regular and Php 105 for large.

One of the things I love about Racks is how consistently tender the ribs are. As always, it's better with Racks Barbecue Sauce.

Another dish that I never miss on getting is the Southern Fried Chicken (Php 380 for half, Php 660 for whole).

Southern Fried Chicken

Racks' Southern Fried Chicken simply reminds me of home. The pieces of crispy fried chicken are seriously huge and served with buttermilk biscuits, honey, and gravy. Yes, it is really worth the rave.

For desserts, we shared a Mississippi Mud Pie (Php 180) and Cheesecake (Php 175).

Cheesecake

The Mississippi Mud Pie is a huge chocolate brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and heaps of chocolate syrup while Racks' Cheesecake is two small servings of cheesecake topped with raspberry and blueberry. I enjoyed both desserts, the Mississippi Mud Pie is a nice contrast of warm and cold, with a generous amount of chocolate syrup, however, the Cheesecake was a bit bland and dry for my taste.

Overall, I think that Racks is one of the best ribs restaurants in Manila. I'm impressed by how they have maintained the quality of their food throughout the years. I would always love to dine here.
