Fire Lake Grill at Cliffhouse Tagaytay

The boyfie's steak craving brought us to this quiet restaurant in Cliffhouse Tagaytay -- Fire Lake Grill.

It was a cold evening that our server suggested that we sit in the alfresco area.

While my date and I were having drinks, a bloody Mary for him, and a latte for me, we shared the House Salad of Fresh Tagaytay Greens (Php 260) for our starter.

Our starter is a symphony of fresh veggies and fruit slices with raspberry dressing and roasted walnuts. It wasn't a surprise that we finished this right away.

For soup, I had the Fresh Pumpkin Soup (Php 145) while he opted for the Grilled Tomato Soup (Php 145).

I loved the creamy yet flavorful and the slightly spicy kick from the Fresh Pumpkin Soup. It was amazing!

For steaks, I ordered the US Angus Ribeye (Php 995 for 220 grams) while the boyfie had the US Angus Tenderloin (Php 1345 for 220 grams). Our server suggested that I choose the Red Wine Shallot Sauce (Php 45) for my steak and Olive-bearnaise Sauce (Php 45) for the boyfie's.

The boyfie's tenderloin was perfectly cooked medium rare, and the cut was of the right thickness.

My steak, however, was thinly-cut that it was cooked medium to well-done rather than medium-rare. Still, flavors are dominant, but the tenderness could be improved.

My date chose the dessert for me. His choice was the Flourless Chocolate Cake (Php 220).

The Flourless Chocolate Cake has peanut butter and white chocolate filling. We both loved it that we fought for the last piece. I would have loved to add ice cream on the side.

Fire Lake Grill is a fine dining restaurant located in a convenient setting that offers reasonably-priced yet delicious dishes. Aside from my slightly overcooked steak, all the dishes we had were amazing and the flavors were spot-on.

Kudos to the staff who were so attentive to us. I would love to go back here but order the tenderloin instead. :p
