My Favorites at Foodgasm in Maginhawa

Last October 17, I was invited as a blogger-judge for the annual foodie event organized by UP EcoSoc, Foodgasm. This time, it was held in one of the most popular foodie destinations in the metro - Maginhawa Street!

I have sampled 39 food samples from 32 food stalls during that day. Food stalls were divided into Sets A and B, and the foodies should be able to rate the food samples from 1 to 5 (with 5 as the highest).

Here are my favorites from the event.

1. Chocolate Chip Cookies by Saj's Cakes and Pastries

I was amazed at how moist and chewy the cookies are. Good job! Saj's also served samples of their Chocochip Banana Cookies.

2. Champorado and Yema Cupcakes by FAT Cupcake

I love unique flavors on cupcakes! The Champorado Cupcake is a real winner, where they used sticky rice to get that authentic Champorado taste. The Yema Cupcake is a lovely rendition of one of my favorite Filipino sweet treats.

3. Lechon Bagnet by Crazy Chef

Lechon and Bagnet combined need not any explanation. Right? :) Crazy Chef also served Buffalo Wings, both sweet and spicy.

4. Bomba by Cookie ng Ina Mo

What seemed like an innocent chocolate chip cookie is a mix of spiciness and sweetness in each bite. I should have been warned, but this is amazing!

5. Yakitori Butabara by Egg-It Asian Street Food

I love grilled food. I loved and hated that I was only given a sample size for the Yakitori Butabara because I need the whole stick or the whole plate for myself. Egg-It served samples of their Cucumber Lemonade as well.

6. Blueberry Cheesecake by Chewy Treats by Claire

A well-made cheesecake will always make any food list of mine. :P

7. Beef Kebab by Mandi Persian Grill

A Maginhawa restaurant, Mandi Persian Grill reminded me of how much I love eating kebabs. I should also commend this food stall for having well-prepared sample plates for everyone. Good job!

8. Cookie Whoopie Pie by Keyks by Kai

Cute and not-so-sweet, just the way I want my cookie. :)

9. Churros con Chocolate by Sancho Churreria

It is good to know that the quality of churros by Sancho hasn't changed. I should give Sancho a visit again soon.

10. Cakes by Empire Cakes

I am soooo amazed by the lechon cake, burger cake, and spaghetti cake. The layers were moist and the sweetness is just right.

11. Treasure Burger by Meal Point Burger House

The Treasure Burger has pure beef patty with 3 kinds of cheese, bacon, and salsa. Plus points for the colorful buns. I loved it. :)
