Oriental Palace, Revisited

I went back to Oriental Palace one weekend to have lunch with my friends. I was amazed by this restaurant when I first visited it a few months ago, so I was quite excited to introduce this place to my friends.

We chose to sit in the shabu-shabu area, which is ideal for small groups like ours.

While waiting for our food, we were given complimentary nuts.

I ordered dim sum and maki, Siao Long Pao (Php 138 for 5 pcs), Hakaw (Php 138 for 4 pcs), and Bacon Roll (Php 250).

Not to miss in Oriental Palace is their dim sum, especially the Siao Long Pao, a well-executed dish for a reasonable price. Since I loved it the last time I was there, I couldn't miss the Bacon Roll, with spicy tuna sushi covered with bacon. I almost didn't want to share. hehe.

We tried their ramen this time: Spicy Prawn Ramen (Php 270) and Oriental Prawn Ramen (Php 260).

Spicy Prawn Ramen

Spicy Prawn Ramen has fresh prawn, spicy Korean stock, and fresh egg while the Oriental Prawn Ramen has fresh prawn, miso broth, corn, and garlic. It was impressive that the prawns tasted really fresh and dominated the flavors of the ramen we had. It was more than enough for us, and I found the prices quite inexpensive for ramen.

Green Mango Shake and Watermelon Shake

We washed everything with fresh fruit shakes, Green Mango (Php 90) for my two friends, and Watermelon (Php 90) for me.

We weren't planning on having dessert at this place but the manager served us complimentary fruit platter anyway.

our free fruit platter - yay!!! :)

Aside from the delicious Chinese and Japanese food, I must really commend on how excellent the service was. The staff was very helpful, even with serving the ramen to smaller bowls. I do hope Oriental Palace maintains the quality of service and wonderful dishes. I couldn't wait to try the shabu shabu on my next visit. :)

  1. Dimsum! Ramen! And yes the price is fair compared to most ramen houses.
