Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina, Revisited

My college friends and I have very busy lives, so whenever we have time to meet, we try to make the best out of it. During the holidays, we decided to keep it simple and had late lunch at Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina in Kapitolyo.

Compared to my first visit when it was fairly new, Silantro has emerged to one of the most crowded restaurants in the area.

We had a table at the alfresco area which wasn't a problem because of the cold weather.

We shared these appetizers: the Beef Nachos (Php 180) and the Calliente Wings (Php 180).

Silantro's Nachos is one, if not the most glorious-looking nachos I have ever tried in Manila. It is smothered with beef chunks, melted cheese, guacamole, and tomatoes. You must not miss this when you visit Silantro.

A late-but-lovely discovery was the Calliente Wings, with a well-balanced spice level that's enough to leave you wanting more. No, I didn't finish this alone but yes, I ate more than my share. :P

For our mains, some of us had Silantro's Burrito (Php 180) while others had the Lucha Tacos (soft or hard shell tacos). I chose two types of meat (Medio, Php 95) for my Lucha Tacos: chicken and lengua. Other available meats are lamb, oxtail, beef, pork, and fish.

My friends were impressed with the burrito, mentioning that it was more than what they expected. Too bad I wasn't able to try it as I was too full with my Lucha Tacos, a messy yet delicious treat I have whenever I visit Silantro.

It was overly-satisfying lunch for everyone. We loved all the dishes served and the service (the crew was really cool!) I love that Silantro has maintained the quality of their food. I do hope they'll think of expanding within the metro soon.

Happy faces :)

  1. I like the presentation of Calliente wings! Gives you an illusion that it's a whole chicken.

I'm not too keen about burritos, for some reason, aside from the fact that it's too much carbs, I never really found one that suits to my taste.
