Subic Wonders: Ocean Adventure

It's been more than a decade since I last visited Ocean Adventure, during our high school field trip (you can probably guess my age by now). I couldn't believe that it took me so long to visit the place.

How to Get There

For our case, we rented a van to drive us from our hotel to Ocean Adventure, and to tour us to some other spots. Driving instructions are available in their website. Free shuttle from Subic bus and taxi terminal is available as well. Pickup times are at the site too.

Admission Fees

Php 550 for adults and Php 440 for kids. You may purchase the tickets on-site or through the website.

Inclusions

The entrance fee includes admission to the Ocean Discovery Aquarium, SeaTrek Aquarium, and of course, the shows!

Sea Lion Marine Patrol Show

Probably the show that I enjoyed the most was the sea lion show. I simply adore their underwater tricks. :)

Walk on the Wild Side Show

The show starts with a short jungle survival training, followed by the animal show that includes an alamid, snake, bat, owl and many others. You may your photo taken with some of the animals after the show.

Dolphin Friends Show

The most anticipated show was the Dolphin Friends Show. It was too bad that we had to move farther from the sea because it started raining during the show. Nevertheless, it was fun watching the dolphins do their tricks.

Other things to remember:

- Interactive animal encounters have additional fees on top of the entrance fees.
- Bringing of food and drinks from outside are not allowed, but there's a resto where you can buy food at reasonable prices.
- Ocean Adventure is open daily. Operating Hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm

It was wonderful to revisit the first and only open water marine theme park in Southeast Asia. A few hours of stay is enough to make me appreciate how our country is blessed with abundant marine life. I do hope we'll do our part and take care of it.
