Habitual Coffee: A Hipster Third Wave Coffee Shop

Note: As of August 2015, Habitual Coffee has closed in Ortigas and will be transferring to Chino Roces Avenue, Makati

Good news: a new third wave coffee shop has opened recently, and the better news? It's just near my workplace! :)

Located inside the very hipster Edition Lifestyle Shop, Habitual Coffee began its dry-run last July, serving coffee using Aeropress. Aeropress is a coffee-brewing device that steeps coffee in less than a minute.

Habitual Coffee serves hot hand brews and DIY cold drip method. They also have some pastries displayed at the counter: S'mores Bar (Php 65), Chocolate Chunk Cookies (Php 50) and Bad Batter Blondies (Php 80).

I had a hot Kalsada Benguet Auntie Domisa (Php 120) while my friend got hot Ethiopia Guji Suke Quto (Php 120). Add Php 20 for a cup of steamed milk.

The Ethiopia blend is more on the fruity side while the Kalsada Benguet has a bit stronger body and woody taste.

A few meters away from my workplace, I'll definitely go back to try the other blends, like the Mint Mojito Coldbrew or the New Orleans Style Coldbrew.

Hipster coffee, why not?

  1. I'm a hipster when it comes to music so maybe I should try hipster coffee (hahaha... mai-konek lang). The place looks a bit like Yardstick.

  4. I'm a Cappuccino and instant coffee kind of gal. I'd be totally confused if I go to coffee houses like this. Hehehe! I'm an embarassment, I know. =D

    1. No worries about not being familiar with coffee beans and stuff, I'm still learning about it as well. :)
