Grand Launch of Croque Cafe + Bakery

I was invited by Zomato to grace the grand launch of Croque Cafe + Bakery, located along Pasay Road, Makati City.

Owned by young chefs, Chef Paco Lao and Chef Alexa Alaba, Croque started serving comfort food alongside bread, desserts, coffee, and wine last March 2014.

After the ribbon-cutting and dedication, we were served sample servings of some of their dishes from the official menu.

I got to try these soups: Coconut Pumpkin Cappuccino & Wild Mushroom Shooter. Both are a bit too strong for my taste.

For appetizers, I had the Watermelon Kesong Puti Mini Salad, Mini Croque Madame, and Pink Peppercorn Crusted Tuna Open-Faced Sandwich. I loved these selections, especially the Watermelon Kesong Puti and the Tuna (!!!!)

I also had the VCO Poached Salmon, Chicken Goulash, Croque Adobo, and Seared Tenderloin

I really loved the mashed potatoes that were served with the Seared Tenderloin. The meat was very tender as well. I must go back for a whole serving of that.

For desserts, I have tried the Speculoos Creme Brulee and Almond Panna Cotta.

I loved the creaminess of the Almond Panna Cotta, however, I wasn't able to taste any Speculoos on the creme brulee.

It was a fine evening overflowing of wines and delicious food. Croque is fairly new and is still on the process of discovering its identity, I would love to go back here after a few weeks to try their full servings.

Thanks to Zomato and Croque Cafe + Bakery for having us.

  1. First, I love the food presentation. They made the food look pretty. To me it's not necessary but every time I go to a resto and notice that they made an effort with regards to how they serve food, it's always a plus. Since the food look pretty I want to try everything. But if I get to visit and I can't afford to try everything you showed here, I would just order the speculoos creme brulee and the poached salmon.
