A Different Coffee Experience at Commune

Note: Commune has relocated to 36 Polaris Street, Makati City.

As a coffee drinker, it has been a personal dream to visit all coffee shops possible. Moreover, it is an achievement to discover a coffee shop than combines art and good coffee, like Commune Cafe + Bar.

One look and I know that this is one of those cafes that I can hang out the whole day. While most coffee shops are proud of their pastries, I was surprised that the server offered to us their savory dishes. It must be delicious, it was just too bad we already had lunch.

My friend and I both ordered hot drinks: I had Cappuccino (Php 120, large) while my friend had Hot Mocha (Php 110, small).

Commune uses a special blend that mixes Arabica and Robusta in all their coffee drinks. What Commune is known for is their latte art, and it's not just the ordinary latte art, it's 3D!

It was the only moment that I didn't want to touch my coffee. EVER.

I was amazed at the effort exerted to make each coffee cup extra special. If only my tummy weren't full, I'll grab a second cup, and another, and another...

To accompany our drinks, my friend and I shared a slice of Apple Pie (Php 180) and Red Velvet Cupcake (Php 80).

I liked the creaminess of the Apple Pie, a dessert I don't really have regularly. I loved that it was beautifully presented, like the Red Velvet Cupcake. The server mentioned that it was their bestselling dessert.

Beautiful cafe, lovely coffee, relaxing ambiance, friendly servers. I wish I could pull this place near my workplace, I loved it. :)

  1. Oh snap, they are closed on Sundays? Geez... I would have gone there today in a heartbeat. The place looks really cool. Good timing too because I am really searching for a new coffee shop to frequent.

  4. Everything about this restaurant is just too perfect. From the interiors down to the way their food and beverages are served. I'd think about it a million times first before I take a bite on that Apple Pie. It's just so beautiful! I hope it tastes as good as it looks :)
