Budget Travelling: Homitori Dormitory Davao City

Since my friend and I figured out that we'll be out a lot, we stayed at a dormitory instead of a hotel. And we found Homitori Dormitory.

Homitori a two-building dormitory (for men and women). It is ideal for backpackers and for budget travelers. They really have affordable daily and monthly rates that we noticed that most tenants are students. Homitori is strategically located near Magsaysay Park and a few blocks away from Gaisano Mall of Davao.

My friend and I got two separate Single rooms at Php 400 a night (with free breakfast). I paid an additional Php 60 for a thick blanket.

My room had two bunk beds, cabinets, a study table, and a mirror. The dormitory is fully airconditioned. I was also provided slippers and a towel. Wi-Fi is free but available in the lobby. Shower rooms and comfort rooms are communal but very well maintained.

Eating is not allowed inside the rooms since Homitori has a pantry, where they also serve breakfast. They also have a fitness gym, which you can use for free and a computer room (which I think has an hourly rate).

Here are the daily rates (per head):

Ladies' - single bunk beds

3 sharing, upper - Php 180
3 sharing, lower - Php 200
2 sharing* - Php 300
single - Php 400

Men's - rooms with 2 bunk beds

4 sharing, upper - Php 180
4 sharing, lower - Php 200
3 sharing* - Php 250
2 sharing* - Php 300
single - Php 400

Group (more than 8 pax) - Php 200

*group must be complete for this rate
Overall, I was really satisfied with my stay at Homitori. The staff was so nice that they even kept our things after our check-out. One thing that I think they should improve on is their breakfast (I'll be happier with just a fried egg for breakfast).

If you're going to Davao on a budget, Homitori is the best place to stay.

    1. Actually, there are 2 bunk beds, so a maximum of 4 persons can stay in a room. But it's a dorm so dapat all-girls or all-boys sa isang room. :)

  15. That's a good price although I'm quite particular with the toilet and bathroom. I think it wouldn't hurt paying a little extra for a private t&b. Thanks for sharing!
