Holy Cow! Steak Ranch and American Grill

Note: This branch is already closed.

I met up with a good friend who is currently in the country for a month-long vacation and he gave me a dinner treat to Holy Cow.

Holy Cow is a cowboy-themed American restaurant that serves delicious steaks and other comfort food that we've come to love. It currently has three locations around the metro.

For starters, we ordered Onion Rings 'n Fries (Php 195).

Onion Rings 'n Fries

I'm currently addicted to onion rings, and I'm always in love with fries and Holy Cow's serving so overwhelming! Not that I'm complaining! I love the ranch dressing with it too.

For the main dish, my friend got a 10 oz Tenderloin Steak (Php 535) while I got Lonestar Grilled Pork Chop (Php 265).

Lonestar Grilled Pork Chop

Both dishes come with a cup of rice, veggies, and gravy and grilled the way you prefer it. I'm quite biased with the words "grilled" and "meat" that's why it's not difficult to fall in love with their dishes, whether it's pork or beef. I was quite surprised at how huge the Tenderloin Steak that if I'm going to finish it myself, I think it would take me forever. But for now, I'm happy with the pork chops. It was tender and well-seasoned.

Holy Cow! is every carnivore's paradise, with its delicious steaks at reasonable prices. I must commend on the service too since the staff was quick to refill our drinks and bring us more gravy (yes, I really love gravy!) I see myself going back and try to do a "Man vs. Food" thing with a huge steak.

  3. I tried their Galleria branch before. My steak was burnt but I liked their soup... I think it was pumpkin and apple. I don't know if that branch is still open though.

  7. Back when I was a kid (it's not THAT long ago :P ) The first encounter of steak for me was in this way: in a hot skillet, and then smothered with lots and lots of gravy :) Only lately did I try eating it just steak alone with no condiments whatsoever.

Both schools of thought have one common denominator: Thye both have steak. And that's all that matters :D

  8. P265 for the steak ain't that bad. ang pancake house pricing nga ngayon is now more than P200 na rin.

  12. Holy Cow for me is "okay". I mean, prices are just (since considerably, they are cheaper than other steak houses). But, it lacks awesome food presentation for me. And the taste is just satisfactory.

That's why when we tried out Holy Cow, we didn't have the feeling of "My experience was superb! Let's go back here again".

Of course we have our own preferences in food. I'm just sharing mine. :)
