Hermanos Taco Shop

Note: This location is already closed.

The PEx Gluttony Society went Mexicano this time at Hermanos Taco Shop. It is a small restaurant beside a Petron gas station that offers authentic Mexican food (it helps that one of the owners is Mexican).

The place is very simple, with walls adorned with pictures of Mexican ingredients and an elaborate wall design made of chopped wood. There's also a photo wall of celebrities who visited the restaurant.

Since my friend and I arrived early and our hungry tummies can't wait for the others, we already ordered the following: Carne Asada Tacos (Php 175) and Beef Fajitas Burritos (Php 295)

Carne Asada Tacos
Beef Fajitas Burritos

Carne Asada Tacos has marinated broiled sirloin steak, shredded lettuce, Pico de Gallo, and sour cream on soft corn tortillas and served with chips and salsa. It's wonderful how something that looks simple can taste so delicious! The carne asada is so tender. A piece looks small but I had to take a break before I start munching on my half of the Beef Fajitas Burritos because my tummy felt heavy after eating the tacos. Beef Fajitas Burritos has diced sirloin steak with peppers and onions, which I found very flavorful.

We also ordered a grande Carne Asada Chips (Php 320), which was included in Spot.ph's Top Ten Nachos in Manila.

Carne Asada Chips

Carne Asada Chips are diced sirloin steak over tortilla chips, melted cheese, sour cream, Pico de Gallo and salsa. The toppings are so generous, I really loved it! The melted cheese is still hot when it was served. It's really a must-try!

For dessert, we tried Churros (Php 95), which is a deep-fried pastry dough dusted with sugar and cinnamon with some caramel sauce.

Churros

I was used to churros con chocolate but their churros give a good contrast to our taste buds.

Overall, I really loved my Hermanos experience! I found their prices reasonable and their food really authentic. The staff was nice enough to suggest which ones we should try (choosing one from 16 burritos is a difficult task for us). Another must-try is the House Horchata (Php 95), a sweet traditional Mexican drink. I'd love to go back and try their other burritos and maybe visit one weekend to try the Mexican Menudo.

Thumbs up to Hermanos!
