The Sandwich Guy

Note: This location is already closed.

I've included The Sandwich Guy at my post about my favorite quick eats, and recently, I'm really getting obsessed with The Sandwich Guy!

I spend an hour traveling from our house to the office and though I eat breakfast at home, I'm usually hungry by the time I reach the office so I grab something for a quick breakfast (part 2) and I usually buy at The Sandwich Guy.

The Sandwich Guy uses patented hexagon whole wheat bread, fresh and organic ingredients for their sandwiches. They also serve pasta, baked potatoes, and salads.

For sandwiches, I usually order Grilled Cheese (Php 55) and Peanut Butter Banana (Php 55).

Grilled Cheese
Peanut Butter Banana
Grilled Cheese has three cheese slices and cheese sauce. If you love cheese, you'll love this! :) Peanut Butter Banana has organic peanut butter with slices of banana sprinkled with cinnamon powder. I don't know why, but I'm so addicted to this sandwich. :)

I recently tried one of their pasta dishes, Tommy Boy (Php 70).

Tommy Boy
Tommy Boy has fresh tomatoes and garlic in olive oil. It wasn't freshly prepared, they just mix the sauce and toppings with the pasta and microwave it. I ordered this one for late lunch so I had to eat at my workstation, my boss loved the garlic smell (This is not sarcasm, he really did love it). I liked it, but it needs more sauce for me.

And recently, my favorite lunches are their baked potatoes.

Cheesy Bacon Baked Potato

Mushy Potato
I usually get Cheesy Bacon Baked Potato (Php 75) but I've also tried Mushy Potato (Php 75). The Sandwich Guy uses baby potatoes for their baked potatoes. It's a good alternative for rice.

I love that The Sandwich Guy caters to people who are always in a hurry. I like that they have organic options for the health-conscious. I love the reusable containers too! :)

But I have noted some points that The Sandwich Guy has to improve on:
- The price difference. Both Grilled Cheese and Peanut Butter Banana are Php 55 at Branch A but Peanut Butter Banana is Php 65 and Grilled Cheese is Php 55 at Branch B. Care to explain why?
- The baked potatoes at Branch A are halved while the baked potatoes at Branch B aren't. Hmm.
- The menu said that the baked potatoes are thick potato slices and not baby potatoes.
- The menu varies depending on the branch.

Maybe I'm just too keen on the standards, but I really hope somebody explains why the variation.

Anyhoo, it's the Lenten season, and if I can't have my meat, I'll have TSG to rescue me. Oh, baked potatoes, please!

  3. I still haven't tried eating anything from The Sandwich Guy yet, but I just found out they have a kiosk in SM North The Block! :D So the next time I'll take a trip to the mall, I'll make sure to get something from TSG. I hope The Block's branch has a good and more affordable menu though.

  6. i'll try the peanut butter banana sandwich! i only like their pollo rosmarino and crabstick & mango sandwiches. I tried the pesto pasta but didn't like it that much coz it was too oily. the chili con carne baked potato had more fat than lean ground meat, so i like wendy's better. anyway, mine was sliced potatoes & not baby potatoes though. Hmm, walang consistency kasi sa branches nila e.

  7. Hmm.. Pricing tactics. I'm not so sure but that might be the case of different prices between the branches. You can ask naman siguro sa kanila. Love those cheese, though. :)

  15. I really like TSG as well. There's one in Eastwood and whenever I'm hungry, I'd grab a sandwich there. My usual order there is their BBQ Chicken sandwich. I also like their Kaya Toast + Coffee combo. :)

    1. Hi jase! They have Kaya Toast??? And coffee??? I haven't seen that one their menu. :)

    2. Yes, they do. If I remember correctly, the combo only costs 55 PhP. The jam they use is the usual Filipino coco jam though, not the milder tasting one used in SG or in KL. Still, I like their kaya toast. :D
